Self esteem is defined as the degree to which qualities and characteristics inside one’s self-concept are perceived to be positive. In short, it is your opinion of yourself.
So why is this important? There will be moments that will knock you down and make you give up. They will create doubt and leave you feeling insecure and unmotivated. You may feel like all your ambitions and goals are pointless. But, when you stop believing in yourself, it’s over. Your self-esteem plays a role in your future success. So much so that if you stop believing in yourself, it will be difficult for you to achieve your goals. So here are a few sma;; habits to improve self esteem.

And both of these must be evidenced by externals. If other people love me, and others give me recognition for my abilities, I will have esteem. If they do not, then even in the unlikely event I feel esteem ir would be considered an arrogant delusion by others. But love and recognition for talent are.not things that everyone can achieve equally. A handsome and highly.intelligent, high status person will get more esteem for less effort than a repulsive poor idiot. On that sense, self-esteem is as much a matter of luck as everything else.

@EzC Fenix Make friends, have a romantic relationship, and get good at something. There's basically no other way.
@someonesomeone25
@someonesomeone25 Жыл бұрын
@EzC Fenix Form a specific plan. To become good at something requires three things: 1) picking something that it's possible for you to be good at. Some things have hard genetic barriers, like maths or singing or athletics. If you haven't got the right genes you'll never be great at such things. But most things don't have such clear genetic barriers - playing guitar, speaking German, juggling, painting, etc. Find something you can become at. 2) regular practice. When you've decided what you want to become good at, do it daily for 6months and you'll be much better than most. Do it daily for 5 years and you'll be top percent. Do it daily for 15 years you'll be a master. 3) mentorship - having good teachers makes you better. Put some effort and money into what you want to be good at and it will pay dividends. To make friends also requires a plan: 1) join at least 4 varied groups, such as a hobby group, sports group, education, religious, political, social, etc. And in that group make sure you speak to everyone and get as many social media contacts as possible. Go regularly and talk to prople regularly. 2) go to bars and cafes and speak to strangers. Make a habit of doing this weekly. Become a regular at a pub or games shop or cafe. Get to know the staff. 3) to be personable be confident, well groomed, ask questions and listen twice as much as talking. Smile a lot. Laugh easily.

1. Stop comparing yourself- Instead of telling us to stop, tell us how to stop. Give us some ideas that we can use to stop comparing ourselves. I've compared myself with my brother since the beginning of time. How can I stop? It's like telling me how to breath different. Help me stop. 2. Perfectionism- we can overcome that for your four reasons. It is hard to figure out "reasonable goals". Allowing room for mistakes? My whole life seems one mistake after another. But, that's just life. Some things I do right and can get a sense of accomplishment and pride. 3. Find what you are good at and developed it. Okay, that one I have done to some extent. I make and sell polymer Dragons and jewelry. I am a good friend, so I have been told. I am loyal to my friends. I am going to start learning to crochet. It's just that I don't seem to be good at much. But I am trying. 4. Focus on the things you can change- Things in my control. I can focus on the things I want to do better. But my depression makes me see that it is so much work that I'd rather go back to bed. I'm working on this one. Wow! I have never heard about Productive Worry. That I can use against depression. Thank you for that one. Boy, I really needed this episode. I have so little self-esteem, but I have been working on this point-negative self-talk. I frequently call myself names in my mind. I am working on not doing that for 1 hour. I will increase that when I have success.

Pay attention to those you're comparing yourself with, and take note of their mistakes and signs of imperfection (everybody's got them). Or try some good old fashioned empathy. Sometimes the success you see in them comes at a great price that you don't know. My oldest friend appears to have it all, the wealth, the confidence, beautiful wife, house, holidays, marathon runs etc. In truth he's unable to stop himself from working and has an unhealthy addiction to money, he can't allow any part of his day to be controlled by anyone other than himself, he can only sustain surface level friendships, he always longed for his dad's approval and found out in his 40s that he was 'donor conceived', he is unable to do the basic domestic duties e.g. can't cook/clean/wash clothes, unable to empathise, sexless marriage to a willing wife who is only starting to realise that he never wanted children and lied about his plans all along. He still desperately needs his father's approval and tries to fill the void by seeking admiration from people he doesn't know and doesn't need in his life. The traits that have made him successful are also detrimental to him. For me to enjoy his success would come at the cost of my identity, and I'm not gonna find another one like that anywhere else!

Pre watch: Back in 2019 when i felt like utter GARBAGE, my secretary gave me a little tip that helped me grow and change. Heres what she said: Every morning when u wake up, look at yourself in the mirror and verbally tell yourself 5 personality traits u have that u love. Not physical traits, but personality traits. It can be the same 5 at 1st, but overtime? Aim to find new ones. Not going to lie, the 1st couple days/weeks its going to be TOUGH, but the journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step. And arent u worth putting in the effort for? One of the BEST pieces of advice ive ever gotten. It made me more self reflective. Whenever I said something harsh or like i didnt intend, i could catch myself, realize what i did wrong, think of who i wanted to be in that situation, and change it to what i MEANT to truly say. U pick up on things about yourself much better. As well as feel more complete. I swear i wish she was around when i graduated so i couldve hugged her and told her how thankful i was for her kind words💯 I hope this advice manages to help someone else one day. Gotta pass it forward and give someone else a chance👍🏾💪🏾

However after making the decision to turn it into a career I have been more aware of my peers that are so much better than me, the peers that will apply to the same unis as me. I have been drawing just to fill my portfolio as well and I believe these elements are making me forget the reason I like art, lowering my self esteem and raising my insecurities. This is good because I'm always hard on myself if I don't do things the right way or a mistake or even not get the results I thought would happen even if I did do everything right. I guess I have low self-esteem because I've been rejected multiple times and have been told to leave them alone or wonder why I'm even talking to them. So I only talk to people if they talk to me first because I don't want to be a bother or come across as annoying or a desperate attention seeker.

@@randomguy9511and to reiterate what you explained - I've had a lot of similar experiences myself - and believe me; it's not fun. But I also believe that one major aspect of life we all struggle to cope with is ACCEPTANCE: meaning that we don't always have to be happy with every little choice we make or second guess ourselves to the point where it drives us crazy....however I think the rhetoric we set for ourselves as individuals is a big aspect of developing and maintaining reasonable self-esteem (which I've never always have been the best with). And as somebody who's a sports fan and tries to have a strong awareness of issues that affect us all on a socioeconomic, sociopolitical, and sociocultural level; I believe that acknowledging any triggers related to what I briefly described is necessary for getting along but at the same time - appreciating the skills you (that us all) were blessed with, and not always worrying what others think. Having some sort of bias or validation is important depending on your situation; but even more important that you have resources to work with even if your self-esteem is far from perfect. If I'm wrong in this instance, then it can only make me work harder and feel stronger on the inside knowing I at least put in a genuine effort to spread awareness. Blessings as well 🙏

Based on my experiences in my early 20s, it was fun in many ways, but I've realized that the older I've gotten...the more I believe that challenging yourself to do certain tasks is important to an extent - but not worth the sacrifice if it doesn't feel right. And as somebody who's been rejected by peers, past friends, and colleagues; they really don't have the influence on me (like I used to think) but it actually has helped make me a stronger, wiser, and knowledgeable person and in regard to whatever challenges come your way; I wish you the best of luck and highest level of success that is within your realm. I'm sure whatever you put your mind to, you'll do great things! There will probably be a lot of ups and downs, but realize that even if achieving something is difficult; it's not impossible either. Blessings 🙏

My favorite thing is to help others grow because I see myself in them when they progress I feel like I progress but I will say there has been a gap lately it’s like Ive had this separation of self and others which can be good in it’s own right but it has left me less passionate, so I’m taking a break from it for awhile I want to find that fire again I want to find the new me

Avoid watching TV/Radio news to much. 20 mins a day is enough. Understand what is behind all the bad news (usually greedy persons) and work at improving the lot of those near you and far away. "Be versed in action (good deeds) yet try to remain unaffected by your actions" Gandhi.

I enjoy doing music and I've now created 9,270 compositions. Even though this is the case, I still have trouble with finding motivation to continue because I'm struggling with a deep depression. My hope for trying to get in the industry is lacking but all I want so badly is for people to hear the beautiful music and continue to be touched by it.
