Did you make as much music last year as you hoped?
If you're like most people, the answer is a big fat no. And not because you didn't WANT to make a lot of music - it just didn't happen.
I am of the belief that the biggest thing holding back our music-making is simply good old fashion procrastination.
And today I've got 4 tips for you to help you end procrastination once and for all and actually make MORE music in 2020 than you did last year.
Are you ready to make this your best year of music-making ever?! Let's dive in!

Remninds me of a Terence McKenna quote “We have to create culture, don't watch TV, don't read magazines, don't even listen to NPR. Create your own roadshow. The nexus of space and time where you are now is the most immediate sector of your universe, and if you're worrying about Michael Jackson or Bill Clinton or somebody else, then you are disempowered, you're giving it all away to icons, icons which are maintained by an electronic media so that you want to dress like X or have lips like Y. This is shit-brained, this kind of thinking. That is all cultural diversion, and what is real is you and your friends and your associations, your highs, your orgasms, your hopes, your plans, your fears. And we are told 'no', we're unimportant, we're peripheral. 'Get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that.' And then you're a player, you don't want to even play in that game. You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.”

I think it's important to not label your music as a hobby just because it currently does not earn an income that will sustain you. Labeling things in a way that potentially diminishes their potential can subconsciously limit you. Better just to make music and work on making it better and richer each and every time.

I spent 2019 mostly with practicing my singing abilities. I was feeling that I hadn't been ready and that my songs wouldn't be good because I needed to 'learn' more and get better and better in singing. Now I'm kind of confident enough to finally finish projects with vocals so I can finally publish songs! :)

It's cool to look back and see the improvement in each song/video. So, next 4 track EP coming out 1st April 2020....promise! EDIT: Mission accomplished ahead of schedule. Just uploaded EP to KZfaq. We must remember that "we love to make a song, it's the funniest thing in the world. it's the reason why we're making music". don't be afraid to make a bad song. try to find what's the problem and make prevention. you have 3 choice. 1. making what you like. you should think about others. "who" is the listener? students? girls? workers? lovers? "when" and "where"? in the shower? on drive? 2. making what others like. you should think about your style and musical desire(or ideal). "why" people should listen your music? 3. making what we like. go on. good luck!

Thank you!!! Last year was a good year in recording and releasing with my bands and I got a lot of songwriting complete for my solo album. I've recently been trying to work on completing at least 1hr per day towards working on finishing my solo album. Having a deadline and employing doing something everyday towards it has made it easier to see the end. Still learning to root out procrastination, but making progress. All that being said, having a deadline has been one of the most beneficial lessons I learned in 2019. Happy New Year!!

Already decided I'm gonna release at leat 12 songs in 2020. I completed 53 songs last year and released 6. I think this isn't enough b'cos of the amount I chose to release means I need to make that much just to be "happy" with something. This year I'll make more sketches and set time limits and I'll spend less time completing music I won't release but more time on the best ideas I have. It will never be "enough" but I'm consistently creating b'cos it's what a producer does. Happy new Saturday Graham.

Graham! Happy New Year!! Another great video. I feel like I MADE all the music I wanted to make last year, I just don't feel like all the people I wanted to hear it did. So this year I'll DEFINITELY be getting an accountability partner to keep me pushing the other things I need to get done. Thanks for the tips, keep up the great work! PS. I would love to hear your thoughts on how to get that music out there for those of us struggling with building a following on social media and all.
