Rabbits are fast learners. They aren't particularly smart, but up to their limits they learn quickly. Rabbits are incapable of regret and shame. Arrogance and vengeance, though... They aren't particularly prone to being malicious, but if you make them angry they absolutely will try to get even. Communication isn't necessarily their strong point, either. My own bun has gotten better at communication over the past couple years. She knows that if she sits next to her food dish and stares at me I'll get the message.

THIS is another huge reason to adopt!! I adopted two senior buns 5yr & 6yr and they are the chillest most loving animals i have ever had and it is amazing.

My bunny does the exact same thing! He uses the litter box for like 20+ minutes and then flops over and expects treats and head rubs! 😂

Definitely takes a hot moment to teach things when they are SO young on what is OK and NOT, but like you said, it is just being CONSISTENT and also knowing when to pick and choose your battles. I found that when Totoro (who is a little over 6 months now) gets into his troublesome stage of some unwanted behavior, if steps A-Y didn't work, I pick him up and pet him and carry him to the bed and REMOVE the thing he is fixated on. But the older the bunnies get, they just become couch potatoes.

I'm gonna get a bunny soon and your videos are really helpful, I used to use a cage and now I'm thinking of bunny proofing the home I live in so it can be safe for my bunny to free roam

I will say, when I moved my limited space for cords to a small spot and gave them under my bed...everything is fine! They love when it's nice and dark, and they like naps under there❤ I love this!

My girls are generally very well behaved so I'm lucky in that respect, though maybe I let them free roam a little early. They're all from the same litter but I got them at different ages. I have Ember since she was 3 months, and our trust level is amazing. Sierra I got at 4 months, and she's definitely the most adventurous of the 3, but also the most skittish. I have and still do work hard to build our trust each day, and it's coming along well. I can now reliably approach her and give her love without her going to hide on me. I got Alice at almost 6 months old, and she's my little lover. She's very shy and cautious but she'll give me cuddles for hours. I got covid a month ago and couldn't get off the couch for 36 hours. Every time I woke up she was sitting on my chest. She would give me kisses on the cheek, circle around, and settle down on my chest again. I'd honestly be lost without all my girls. But I've let them free roam my living room and kitchen for as long as I've had them. The bedrooms are off limits as they aren't bunny proofed, but they have plenty of space to run and play. They seem really happy, and your videos have allowed me to improve their quality of life by helping me be a better bunny daddy. Anyway, enough rambling! Hahaha! Thank you for another great video!

My rabbit is just learning how to go up my stairs and she is awesome with behavior and she knows her name in March she’s going to be a year old we don’t know when her birthday is so we’re just gonna celebrate it and st. Patrick’s Day and we love her all of us and it’s so nice to have you keep uploading every week thank you so much you’ve helped me take care of my rabbit and study her and that gives us a closer bond and we love it and she loves me

I agree! Full trust and free roam, wouldn’t have it any other way. Took us a few years to get here but BB is 5 now and he’s the most perfect boy. Olivia is 2yrs and still has a lot to learn but has a great example! Thank u Lorelei and Lennon for spreading awareness 🐰🤍

Yes! You are so on spot! My cousin had lab puppy, it was crazy to be around all through teen years,too! After that he was the beat dog ever, well behaved and teachable! My daughter’s bunny was a rescue and probably late teens, I think some of the behaviors were due to improper care from the previous owners who probably abandoned her or she escaped! Now she doesn’t want to be brushed or get her nails trimmed! My daughter is working on building trust, and her bunny is getting more loving, bunny kisses and getting partly up on her lap! Blessed and safe days!

This video is so incredibly important for any rabbit owner to watch. Helps realize they really are a similar companion to cats and dogs and can be a great family addition when you give them the time and patience they deserve.

I’ve had my rabbit for almost 5 years and for the past 2 years I thought she hated me but she didn’t now I’m doing research and spending time with Herron have really helped me

I'm currently trying to bond my two rabbits via positive reinforcement methods. So far I've been using soothing music made for rabbits to keep them calm, and giving them meadow hay (aka treat hay) when they stay calm near each other, and they only get that treat around each other to build up the positive association. This video gives me hope these methods can work out!

I have a 5 1/2 year old pit bull who is my world. He's helped me fight and heal from cancer for the past 6 years. We decided to adopt a bunny about 6 months ago. Your channel has been so helpful, but I beg to differ on the comment about dogs being more difficult. All babies, humans and animals, require hard work and dedication... to make sure they are well behaved and so on. My pit & bun roam freely together, sleep together, even share food. Thanks to you I am able to understand my male rabbit better, our first year together he was always scared of me and we didn't bond at all but in 2021 I started to spend more time with him and gave him his space at one point I bumped my head against his and just apologized for not being a good friend to him and now we are inseparable and have a much stronger bond. Thank you so much for helping me establish that bond with him and being a better owner towards him and understanding him so much more. (Even though the people around me think I'm crazy for treating him as a baby and actually understanding him)

My bunny Willow does the same thing after I give her hay! She spends a lot of time eating and sleeping.

Reesie has chewed on floor trim, door trim, kitchen chair legs, an assortment of electrical cords and my husband loves that rabbit and doesn’t get upset. This is a nice house too but he says things can get fixed and repainted and Reesie is welcome anywhere. I keep all the bedroom doors shut and he has 2 litter boxes since the house is so big. He has a bell he rings, in his main living area, when he wants attention. Pampered bunny.
