This week's video features a fun and simple book binding card design. And I have 4 different ways you can use this design in your cardmaking.
The cards in this video feature products from the Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Suite. However, keep in mind you can use these card designs with ANY supplies you have on hand. Just get creative with it!

Another KZfaqr made this card and it caught my eye, but the deal breaker was you showing three more cards with the mere turning of the paper (and different scoring). If I have everything out for 1 card let me go big with 4! Thanks

Fabulous card design. It seems whenever I see hinged cards like this, the crafter glues two separate pieces of cardstock (or more often, two envelopes) together. I love your method. Much cleaner, and without the fear of the hinged piece separating after a while. It’s also a nice way to use up some scraps. Thank you for sharing this! 🌸

Hi Lynn, I love the four book binding cards. What a fun way to use soooo many beautiful designer papers. I also like that your doing the insides of the cards. I have a hard time doing bows, do you have a suggestion for us? I like that your videos are short and to the point. God bless and keep up the great work.

Hello Lynn! Oh, my Stampin’ Friend, YOU are a “life saver”!!! I LOVE THE BOOK BINDING CARD DESIGN! And when I first saw it, I DID think of how it could be done in EITHER FASHION~~PORTRAIT or LANDSCAPE! However, measurements n’ me don’t ALWAYS coincide ~~(and I might be a bit lazy on that, too! haha!) So I WAS THRILLED when I saw your post today! “HOORAY” I shouted to myself~~Lynn has done the measuring for me! THANK YOU OODLES n’ OODLES! :-))))). I LOVE that the DSP gets showcased!! And it’s a PERFECT DESIGN for so many DSPs in my stash! GREAT WAY to use up that paper to create LOVELY CARDS! My Goal = Make Gift Sets w/a variety of greetings n’ DSP! YAY, Lynn! You’ve made my day! LOVE this card design Lynn - especially using the Hand Penned Suite - soooooo pretty!!! Thank you for thinking outside the box and showing a variety of ways to create this fun fold design. Hi Lynn, I am new to card making. I don't know what you mean by "After you stamp the large floral image, from the Hand Penned set, on a scrap piece of cardstock using Black Memento ink. Stamp the “color” into the image using the coordinating images from the set." Thanks!

Hi Barb, thank you for your question. The floral images are creating in two steps. First the outline of the image is stamped (using black ink). Then there are smaller stamp images that you can use to stamp the "color" inside each of the flowers. I hope that helps.

How would I do this but with a 5x7 card?

You just need to create the 5 x 7 inch card and then decide how wide you want the book binding section. These cards feature a 1-1/4 inch wide book binding section. You might want a slightly larger one (maybe 1-1/2 inch or so)
