Came across your channel tonight. My great uncle had a 1978 Kitten S reg in brown, think it was a saloon. Bought from Midas Motors in Edinburgh. I was only in it once about age 12 in the back seat. He had at least one Robin or Regal before. He went back to Vespa scooters from 1982.

Thanks for another great video . I always thought the Kitten was a good idea , and would have preferred one to most kit cars , and watching you working on dismantling it gives me a better understanding of how it's put together and how restoreable they really are on a budget .

Both my grandfathers had a Reliant Robin. My teen years were spent - fixing them - often!! This is an excellent series of videos Lewi! Not often - you see a Kitten these days either! Should turn out very well! I watch with great interest! As I continue to swear at my Morris Minor restoration.

That’s great! Thanks! Yeh kittens aren’t very common, just need to get the registration number sorted out for this one next 🙂. Sounds like a typical Morris minor if it need a good swearing at 🙈😂

Is that a Honda N600 behind the Reliant? Great little car! I had a 1971 J- Reg! I loved it! So nippy! And great fun. I was a London Copper! I once took 3 other guys to the seaside in it! We all weighed around 16 stone each? It never missed a beat! But took a lot to brake! 😁 Love your videos! Thank you.

@@LewiBuchProductions I exchanged my Honda for a TVR Grantura! Honestly! A straight swop! It had the MGA 1600cc engine, and wire spoke wheels! It was bright Yellow! With black leather interior! I had it about 3 months and then exchanged again for a Ford Anglia 105E. 1200cc. Between 1969-2012, I had just under 100 different cars! I must be catching up with You? 😊 my friend! So what happened to the Kitten/ Fox? I can't see the final video? Anywhere.

They are still ongoing, kittens will be restarting again soon, where as the fox is I’ll have one more video before it heads off to a new home 🙂

Had a few Reliants over the years. Was looking in to getting a Reliant Fox Tandy camper, but I came across a Rickman Rancher which is now my rolling restoration. If I did another Reliant with a rotten chassis I would be tempted to make a Rickman style rectangular box section chassis following the measurements of the reliant. Not sure but I think this is what WMC did when they remade the Bond Bug 3/4 wheeler.

That sounds great, the fox is one I’ve never come across yet, I’ve got a contact who can bend original chassis profiles for Reliant’s, I’ve been tempted to get a few made up 🙂

That’s amazing! I don’t have a regent but I’m my collection nearly have one of every model of reliant 3 wheelers from 1960 to the day the factory closed 🙂

I know im going to ge crap for this but i preferred the 4 wheeled versions. The 3 wheeled versions would have been better as 2 at the front and one at the rear.

Another great video Lewi, I’ve been looking forward to the Kitten series. Is the galvanized Fox chassis the same as the Kitten? Seem to remember that the front suspension is Triumph Herald based but I could be wrong. I’ve often wondered what the Kitten and Fox are like to drive, I used to love driving my Dad’s Robin’s and Rialto’s, happy memories!

Thanks! There’s more to come soon on the kitten 🙂 I believe it’s very similar chassis wise to the fox, believe your right as well that it’s herald front suspension, I’m the same! Never driven a kitten or fox so quite excited to get a shot of the kitten once it’s restored

Where can I get a copy of the bolt locations for removing the body? And what else needs to be disconnected to remove the body. Had a tey to remove the body on mine today and I'm sure there are bolts somehwere on the front I can't find. Cheers. Simon.

Best way to go is just work from front to back just follow the rails and check you haven’t missed anything, 2 bolts are hidden on front cross member I think in front of engine, you need to remove hand brake cable, engine wiring, fuel tank wire and filler neck, seat belt mounts and disconnect steering too, from what I can remember off the top of my head anyway

@@LewiBuchProductions thanks dude going to give it another go this weekend. Think the chassis is going to need alot of work I can poke my finger through the rails over the top of the rear wheel. Either that or I Need to find a already galved chassis but I'm guessing they are as rare as rocking horse poo. On a plus note I got the honda blackbird engine running this is what's going into my kitten 🙄😁😁

The DL was the Delux model, and came with some extras, can’t remember off the top of my head what extras they were though 😅

I’d love to restore it but it would cost a fortune 😔, it was the first car I ever got, really deserved to be saved there’s less than 5 left in the uk

@@Mark1405Leeds I’ll never scrap it, if I found a way to fund its restoration it would be away getting restored in no time, just I imagine it would be well into £10,000 and more
