I took it as the first three verses was from the girls dad perspective, Jcole’s friend, then on the last verse Jcole was saying one night I got a call from your dad saying he knew he was going to die so if/when I do give this perspective to my daughter. And according to the song assuming he did die, jcole is now releasing these song for her eyes to see who her daddy really was and pass on the message her daddy asked him to.

There’s actually a real treat in the album Most hate it for no reason. But Foldin Clothez? That track is depicting someone who was from the gang life/street life and put it down to try and live a normal life again I’ve known plenty from the trenches. And that song? Is EXACTLY what they would experience as they started turning their lives around

Becka listen to the whole album ... Only time Cole actually plays himself is in the last verse of this song/album.. otherwise it's all from the perspective of his friend who's living the gang life.
