I love the concept of hard sci fi against hard fantasy. Robots vs demons is something that I can’t get enough of.

The new Necron structures are so powerful, that in the novel Indomitus, the imperial ship literally encounters daemons FLEEING from the planet they're going to.

When Necrons and Chaos go to war, Humanity wins.

We don't see enough of xenos and chaos fighting eachother.

I love the idea that the entire galaxy is at 'war', and the Necrons are basically just swatting flies with rolled-up newspapers at this point. This isn't war for them. It isn't even pest control.

Question: who would the Imperium want to win in a war between the Necrons and Chaos?

I wouldn't necessarily think current chaos is stronger than peak Old Ones. Their warp abilities seem more focused , precise, and refined. I'm sure the Chaos Gods themselves would be a daunting fight but the gifts they give thier underlings are always double edged. They're constantly scheming on each other.

The necrons have the most broken weapon in the lore it is a machine that can rewrite reality its called the Celestial Orrery

I feel like C'tans should have the advantage because the real universe is their realm, so I feel like the foreign creatures of the warp would have a lot of trouble defeating them

I like this look at chaos vs Necrons. I've been wondering a bit how exactly chaos deals with Necrons and Nids

The Necron house that controls the literal solar system ending device is scary in itself. The device, 'Celestial Orrery' is made up of living metal and holograms of unthinkable artistic value alone. What it does is show every single star in the galaxy. You remove a star in the device and in real space that star will go supernova engulfing everything in its path.

Are there any well-documented battles between chaos and necrons I can read about?

Holy shit! Necrons can be corrupted?! Did not see that coming.

Going with the necrons. Considering they have the one weapon that can close warp stroms. Chaos or chaos effected beings with out the link to the warp they become weak and mortal. Take abbadon on cadia. At 1st the eye of terror was shrinking. As it shrunk all warp effected units be they good like the saints or legion of the dammed or evil like abbadon became weak. Now inn avengin son. Nocolith can be used to open warps. when the pole is reversed not only does it close warps but i wipes demon spawn right out of exisitence. Take the hybrid demon battle ship. When the reveresed it it killed the ship levaing it striped of all taint. Also as the reveresd power spread it erased demons. Not only do Necrons have this tech. But the inquistion NOW has this tech too. Ordo Herticus and xenos bot understand how to use Noctolith as does The regent Gulliman.
