They have the Covenant of Fire, Dragonspears, Dark Krakens, and the Black Vipers are believed to be from their gene seed. Those are just off the top of my head.

Shitmaris are made not from chapter gen seed, they are grown in tanks with a new mixed seed, taken from the loyalist primarchs samples, papa smurf gave to cawl in m32. They are no real chapter marines. That's the problem in the fluff. That would extinct the chapter traditions and especially their "mutations".

Some of the Black Dragons I have read in short stories like The Black Dragons Arrive are in excess of 11 feet tall and built like ogres with bone spikes and horns. Whonwants to fight that?

Well... not really. Iirc Vulkan's genesons were all but destroyed in the Horus Heresy, and because they're also ridiculously particular (even by SM standards) about who they recruit, even right up to the reawakening of Guilliman they only had like 970 battlebrothers in spite of the fact that they think the Codex Astartes is dumb. They were technically codex compliant in spite of their distaste for the decree the whole time. Their small member count is likely the reason most (in lore) don't consider them among the strongest SM chapters (in spite of the fact that they have the physically strongest marines with perhaps the exception of the space wolves, and by far the most durable loyalist marines, with self-made battlegear superior to the rest of the SM chapters)

Gilman's doctrine is not stupid. It stopped Choas infecting an entire army. The chapters still work as an army. And considering how few there is it's really needed. To create new chapters and be more than 1 place at 1 time. Nothing stopping more than 1 chapter teaming up for a certain mission or many chapters.

Debatable because we dont actually have any confirmed successors. The lore reason for the salamanders isn’t really well described either. Their pigment is darker cause of nocturnes radiation suposedly. But all astartes have that ability and if they leave nocturne they should then go back to original pigment like all astartes do. So depends which side of the debate you’d fall on. Either its the gene seed itself or somehow nocturne has damaged it. I don’t recall anyone ever mentioning any descriptions of terran born salamanders from preheresy either which would settle the debate....

Cawl is said to have left Gene-Seed "quirks" as they were. So unless they changed the lore yes Primaris members are coal black as well. Buuuut only if they have been on Nocturne and have interacted with the radiation. i.e. GW wanted Chapters to still look the same mostly.

Not known. They were a cursed founding chapter so they could have salamander as the base. But then frankensteined with who knows what other chapter.

The reality is that Warhammer 40k and Fantasy as well has "quite" eurocentrical imaginary, with almost any representation of any culture which is not Germanic, Celtic or Slavian. We don't get many of Asian culture inside both medieval and futuristic versions of WH, even less semitic, and african descendency is anecdotic. Some says that the chapters of the Black Angels and the Raven Guard are based in north American Indigenous, but the whole truth is thst the only representation of Mesoamerican and South American natives cultures are the Slann or Slanni and Lizardmen. 'Nough said. Oh yeah, also make you notice the fact that the colour of skin is not mention to be because of African descendancy, but 'cause of the light and radioactivity of the planet, and also there's not any treat of african culture in the chapter (not like Space Wolf Vikings, Space Catholic Vampires, any other Chapter of Space Europen Medieval Knights).

It would have been very easy to have Sikhs space marine chapters, Hindi Space Marine Chapters, Persian, Assirian, Turkish, Phoenician, Bereber, Massai, Zulú, Aztec, Maian, Incaic, Ianomami, Maori, North American Native, Australian Aboriginal, Japanese, Chinese... Space Marine Chapters... And also have a little more racial and cultural diversity amongst the Primarchs.

@@Joan1Marti I mean in some pictures some marines have very African lookin features. A lot of depictions of Vulkan shows him having African traits. It makes sense considering WH40K was made in the UK
