It will be at first and so will some key mods like Lumpino’s RPO and Wonderful /Wicked Whims will take a huge hit and need major updates. But I learned my lesson after For Rent. I will stand back and let the fire slowly burn (aka emergency patch and mods updated) before downloading the update and purchasing the pack. Patience will make the difference between breaking your saves or keeping them safe.

I hope that being able to invite more than one Sim on a date can be used in more situations than just polyamory -- what if I have two Sim couples and I want them to go out on a double date?

Judging from my experience playing with non-committal sims, I think a potential difference between non-committal and romantically reserved is that non-committal doesn't just cover romance. It also goes into family and careers as well. It's the wide range of commitments that turn these sims off.

This might just be me but for the traits I feel like they are different. For example the lovebug trait I see as someone who wants relationships and craves being with someone but the romantic trait is someone who is romantic-aka “good at romance” in easy terms

Yes. While I will admit the love bug and romantic trait are somewhat similar, romantically reserved is definitely different from noncommittal. Romantically reserved is almost certainly referring to the avoidant attachment style which makes people kind of keep a distance and not fully engage in a relationship. Noncommittal sims may be able to fully engage but can’t keep their focus on one partner for long. (Reserved sims probably won’t be into the cheating thing either.) With this in mind, the lovebug trait probably reflects the anxious attachment style, as the opposite of the romantically reserved trait. I’m not worried about lovebug being too similar to romantic trait but to the jealous trait, as they seem to read a bit similar to me. It honestly might just be a combination of both the romantic and jealous trait, which is still welcome as it saves a slot for something else, lol.

@@itscyberqueen13 That's true, that trait exists too, but considering that comes from a different expansion pack its fair that it gets reintroduced. plus I'm certain there's more to it in regards to interactions with other features inside the pack

@@koibubbles3302 It's not "fair" to charge for the same thing twice and 3 times. no. If you own all the games its not fair to pay 1200 dollars for repeat content. And for those that don't own the pack you will be less interested in buying packs if you already have the content included with a different pack you do own.

High School Years needs to be updated for this pack as well especially the photobooths and social bunny. The base game needs to be updated with more romantic phone and camera pics.

Im still hoping to see carousels in this pack since date night can be at carnivals and we desperately need more rides to go with the ferris wheel,tunnel of love and haunted house but carousels shouldnt be rabbitholes.

I feel like romantic is a sim who flirts a lot without really thinking about commitment, while a lovebug is more in love with the idea of finding their one true love. Romantically reserved could just be someone who isn't super into romance, but still would like to be in a relationship one day. Maybe it's a trait to simulate aromantic/asexual people?

Sims talking together in a group was one of the BIG selling points, when Sims 4 was under development, and they started advertising for it, and is so ingrained in the basegame functions, that I do NOT believe the feature - not interupt - will work in Lovestruck. I won't get my hopes of for that. Great if it works, but I seriously doubt it.

My sims already go out and cloud gaze, and look at the stars together. I had them on a date at a museum and I can already click on a painting and say "view art together."

Haven’t even fully watched the video, but I’m crossing my fingers that some of the new features are child sims being able to go on dates with a chaperone, teens getting new romance interactions, and sims getting a pop up, or reward item for making it to old age together!!! 🙈🙈🙈Fingers crossed!!!

I hope they update where sims actually react to cheating and have consequences. So I don't have to use the mods. Back in sims 3 they use to pull up to the house if they see and hear they spouse cheated !

i think the romantic trait is always flirty in more of a serial romantic way, but for the love bug trait, it’ll be more like romancing to find *the one*. i think the non-committal trait expands beyond romance, and the romantically reserved trait will be exclusive to romantic interactions. non committal also reads as a serial romantic trait to me. tldr: romantic and non-committal read as more serial romantic, whereas love bug and romantically reserved seem closer to a sim searching for their soulmate

I've been playing The Sims 2 for the past few days and I don't think "invite others on the date" is new nor do I think it means they are all woohooing or dating each other. In The Sims 2 Don Lothario called me and invited me out and when we arrived at the community lot of my choosing (after the loading screen) 6 sims climbed out of the taxi. They all had blue plumbobs and it signified we were all on a group "outing". Time will tell if EA is simply bringing back features from TS2...(which I am not mad about) but it is not group woohoo or polyamory. Not sure why ppl are asking for polyamory anyway, but maybe it's just that I am not into what the "kids might be doing these days." This makes me afraid for my kids LOL.

Anybody anxious about everything breaking ? Eyelashes means CAS is going to break and probably alot of skin details.. the UI is going to be overhauled which is going to break everything to do with that. Interaction and pie menu mods..done form. Lumpinou, and pandasama will have to create a new system revolving around the new romance skill..I don't think anything is safe :/

“Lovestruck” is looking promising so far, but I’m wondering about any world-specific gameplay in hopes that it will touch expansion pack-quality. It’s in Mexico, yes? City Living already gave us some Mexican foods, but food/drink menus can always be expanded (chimichangas, deep-fried ice cream, tres leches, horchata, etc). Would like to see just one cemetery (callback to the sugar skulls of El Dia de los Muertos?), and a matchmaker NPC for those old-fashioned, anti-technology sims. New fish and more crystal/metal dig sites would be nice bonuses.

I thought love bug. Would be like a showy romance. Like all into cuddling and tactile. And just into spending time with their partner even if its not specifically romantic. Whereas romantically reserved. Could be like where they can be romantic but theyre not full on about it. Like maybe not into all the tactile, kissing, flirting. Especially if not in a relationship. Dunno though. I like the idea of the pack but I feel like half that stuff, we pc players have had for ages from mods. And some if it should have just been base game. Open minded to what they show though. Could be great.

EA is now really just making expansions based off of Mods already made by Modders for players for free lmao 😂 Dating app, overhauled dating, Heart Bed, Meet Ups, Enchanced Dating goals and activities, expansion of traits and moodlets and emotional states related to romace/flirting, poly-relationships, "role-playing", new interactions/animations...Other sims not interrupting your Sims on dates (Several mods that do this with interactions just generally!!!) and many others lol All this is attainable for FREE from mods made by Modders (that will most likely be betterbthan what EA develops!) IF EA is able to launch the pack, without the typical failed launch and bugs to the point, Modders, yes MODDERS have to fix it FOR THEM, that'd be amazing and a fresh and welcome change and hopefully give a good meaning to future pack launches!
