This is sadly not sponsored lol. $400 USD is definitely a good chunk of change to be spending on a 1 night cruise (especially with everything else you can do in Vietnam for the same price) so here is our full experience of sailing with Dora Cruise who I found on Booking.com. Sailing on Halong Bay is one of the most popular attractions in Vietnam and there are SO MANY CHOICES for cruise lines and it can be a bit overwhelming to choose how to go about it so I hope my video will be helpful in giving you guys an inside look of how our experience went on a 5 star luxury cruise. Overall from the people I talked to who did it (and tour agents as well) recommend going with a 5 star because the mid range boats aren't significantly cheaper, but there's a substantial difference in quality. We went on a similar cruise back in October. The weather was much nicer. They say 2 days 1 night but it's barely 24 hours. You get on around noon and back before noon. There are many cruise options so you should check out the activities and destinations. Our cruise stopped by the Ti Top island where we get to climb on the top of the mountain and look down the gorgeous bay. We also visited the amazing Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave. I think it would be better to book the cruise from a travel agent in Hanoi. There are many of them in the old quarter. It's always better to communicate with a real person rather than from a website. They're familiar with the cruises and can recommend the cruise to fit your liking.

Halong Bay is one of those places you won’t soon forget after visiting them - scenic, serene and remote. Its like another world away from Hanoi and in my opinion, the cruise, though spendy, was worth it! Best wishes to you and your Dad for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! But this is definitely not Ha Long bay. It's Lan Ha bay (Cat Ba islands, Hai Phong city). Lan Ha bay is extremely underrated. It's just really sad that so many people come to Lan Ha bay and praise its beauty thinking that they are in Ha Long bay. Poor Lan Ha bay and Cat Ba islands.

There is a big cave. They all take you there. I wasn't expecting much, but it was one of the coolest experiences. Huge cave room inside. Very cool!!!

Pretty good value all up - for two. If you want to have a luxurious, no hiccups exploration of Halong Bay. Especially if neither of you guys have been on a luxury cruise before. The balcony a stunning, private viewing of all that splendour. Magnificent. The timing of the breakfast and activities a bit early - maybe you need more time to enjoy both the activities and relax in the laid back luxury to get the best out of it.

Hello Alina, Yes I have been to Ha Long Bay. Hand a day trip from Ha Long to Cat Ba island and from there another half day boat trip. It was very interesting. One hint, some of the clips have a noticeable audio click at the cutting points. Especially at the beginning of the video. Everyone should do the Ha Long Bay cruise once in their lifetime...but yes, do the longer cruises as it takes you away from the crowds that do the shorter cruises, therefore more peaceful. You're dad may be too old for this, but you should take him on the Ha Giang Loop via a tour company (if he can sit on a motorbike for 3-4 days) and if it might be too dangerous or difficult for him, but Ninh Binh is also amazing with the climb up to the dragon on top of the mountain. He'd enjoy the boat rides in Trang An or Tam Coc in that area, too.

4.2 stars overall, 5 stars on the price for sure. Boat is great and just the right size. Loved the suite, goldilocks size, and the balcony. is the only way to go. Ditto on the 3 day, 2 night option. Scratch the bat cave. How about a band and dancing? Ship should sell its own branded wine and you could take some home or they would ship it for you as a remembrance. In fact how about local wine tasting as an extra event? Great job as usual, keep up the good work.

This was an interesting video. I thought the price was very reasonable because you couldn't get something similar in Canada unless you paid 3 times the price. I did feel that the bay was a little full of cruise boats and the cave tour had a line up like a theme park ride. Since two days is very loosely defined, I would definitely take a three night or four day cruise as long as funds were available. Unfortunately most travel experiences for travellers are only limited by interest, money, and time.
