It seems clear the man talking on about the clock is an enthusiast of old clocks. He quite literally seems smitten to bits over the old clock. The man who owned the clock so long in his family, seems to display some comfort in handing it over, leaving it there as a sign of trust thus it really is a sweet human interaction.

I would LOVE to be able to follow one object to the end of its restoration and not have to guess if I have sequence #2 etc. or not!!! How about putting a number, like 4/6, the fourth segment of altogether six segments, so that one can see and enjoy the progress!!! That should not be so difficult and would enhance the show immensely!! Thanks, Carina from Germany.

Is there any way to sort the program clips on the right to locate the remainder of this segment of the TV show?? I have watched the TV program "The Repair Shop" - 2 seasons - from start to finish, and there are a few more clips to view to get the whole story here. This episode was not included with the regular TV episodes. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Steve, we have watched all the Repair shop series, COVID 19 has stopped all this. My wife's friend has asked me to try and get going a 60years old Enfield mantel clock rear wind, I have got it going, with a problem, sometime in the past the time lever post has been broken off, its losing time all the time whichever way I move the lever left or right, for a start I don't see any +/- on the back to indicate which to increase the timing, I would appreciate your knowledge if there is a way to correct this. We look forward to seeing your return with the gang, hope everyone has come through this.regards welshman2081

This Lantern Clock is not from mid 1600s, it is much later. Many Lantern Clocks are not what they seem to be and are not original and have been cobbled together to catch the unwary. Without detailed images of the movement it is difficult to date but hands and chapter ring look late 1700s or even much later. A genuine Lantern from mid 1600s would have an hour hand only and have a single weight. I have a genuine Lanterm Clock with single hand and count wheel striking, dated around late 1680s. The clock in this video has too much wrong with it to immediately date to mid 1600s. Very unprofessional.

I find "The Repair Shop" entertaining but disappointing, I always want to see more details about how they make their repairs, more like the better DIY channels on KZfaq. I understand that that much detail would not be interesting for long to most viewers who aren't going to try to do such a repair themselves, so I must settle for the brief glimpses.

As a BBC Licence Payer for 55+ years, I OBJECT to having to PAY to view something I have been paying the BBC to make, and I cannot make my disgust any more apparent. Even the BBC iPlayer does not allow all the previous episodes to be viewed. How DARE they charge me to watch something that I contributed the licence fee to view! Now I am over 75, after expectations of being relieved of paying for this "licence" after being 75 years old, the rule has changed - I must NOW continue to pay, AND I cannot view previous programmes that I have already contributed too! Is THIS the British idea of FAIRNESS?

He is a skilled upholsterer and restorer in his own right. I have no idea why anyone would think him annoying, he is the glue that holds the other restorers together, and it is his personality which makes the show what it is. Can you imagine how it would be if there was some know it all person with no personality who had swallowed a dictionary was presenting it? What I find pleasant about him is his genuine appreciation of the skills of the people he works with, he allows them to shine and so the whole thing works well. People say it is the pandemic that has helped this show on, but I think it was on its way anyway. Who hasn’t got a loved item they wish could be restored or mended. I have at least two myself....
