The wars with Austria and Iran, the Jalali uprisings have worn the state and ruined the economy. When the wars with Austria were ended during the time of Ahmet I, there was some relief and a period of peace was entered. However, this period lasted for a short time and in the six years following the death of Sultan Ahmet, a total of four sultans changed.
Also in this century, there were attacks on the Black Sea coast by Ukrainian Cossacks. The Kazakhs who came to the north of Istanbul, as far as the Bosphorus, plundered and even the town of Tarabya was set on fire.
The Celali Rebellions, which emerged with economic problems, created distrust around the city. Perhaps the most troubled times of Istanbul were experienced in the seventeenth century.
