Then, imagine those same visions preventing you from sleeping for more than a small handful of hours at a time, after which you wake with skull-splitting headaches. Then finally, during all of your waking hours, not ever knowing which of the visions experienced will come true or not, with a rough 50% success rate. You never know what to believe, you never know how much faith to put into yourself, and you're in constant doubt about your decision making abilities. Primarch or not, that's a recipe for absolute insanity. The fact Konrad was able to keep it together for as long as he did, with glimpses of recovery along the way, is an absolute miracle. Even Angron suffered sooner, with his butcher's nails having completely taken over his personality, before Konrad's own personality completely degenerated.
