I was only 20 years old at the time. I heard running commentary on radio 📻. It was amazing victory ✌️ we all proud of 1983 world Cup team. They played magnificently. Hartley congratulations to kapildev and the team.

With due respect nothing that has been said by these greats have NOT been said before. In fact, everything has been said before and been repeated several times. It may sound harsh but I think this 1983 victory celebrations has been overdone. I don't think our 2007, 2011 or 2013 triumphs anniversaries have been celebrated by those teams. And yet, the most significant achievement for us as a nation was 15th August 1947. Apart from the customary unfurling of the tri colour and PM speech from the Red Fort, all those greats who played a significant part in achieving freedom are seldom celebrated annually.
