thanks for this insightful, funny chat! 😂 It is sad the way this series derailed, so many bad decisions in hindsight. One that sticks out to me in particular was the overdubbing of sound fx in the first film's re-releases. I saw Superman 1 in the theater 3x as a 10 yr old, and it's how I remember that film's sound, with the Williams soundtrack (imo the most beautiful, emotive score he ever wrote, I literally get tears in my eyes when I hear that opening theme) being the most powerful audio element.. in later video releases a soundtrack layer was slapped on top that's so much louder than necessary that it diminishes, and worse- distracts from the music & I always thought that was a big mistake.
