Makes a good kit gun.

I bought it thinking it might make a good small game bug-out gun.

To me the a 410 has enough versatility to make it a good survival cartridge. I would like to have a holster made for it so I can carry it for shooting pot meat while big game hunting.

It would be my small game getter while my AR is my big game getter/self defense weapon.

Yeah. It's light and would be easy to carry as you walked. Every time I go hiking something crosses my path during the day. If your were bugging out from one place to another and just walked with it in your hand, you'd have dinner every night without trying. I'm going to look into getting me something like that. Thanks for the heads up.

Even later than you. I have owned one for 5 years now. The thing is a tank. I use just the .410 shells in it with tthe Modified choke on the end. Very accurate with slugs. The only regret is the very tall front sight(rather had just a bead) which makes for some what clumsy draws from a holster. The .410 shell is an easy reload with Pyrodex and a 309 primer. I recomend .410's for a survival gun since the shells are light to carry compared to a 12 gauge.

Very true. finding the 45 choke for that thing is like looking for a needle in a haystack

I'd say if it was the 45 tube it would be safe for either. Don't think I would shoot a 45 colt through the modified shotgun choke though. If it is like mine the shotgun tube is a little over 1 1/2 inches long and has 4 grooves on the inside. The 45 colt tube is about an 1 1/4 inches long.

Most hardware places have them and Harbor Freight has them and kits of many different sizes.
