How do you know how much to put in each envelope from the cash you have ?

It's all based on priority. Things that are most important right now get more money. Sometimes these numbers change. For example, when school starts, I won't stuff anymore in the school clothes envelope for a while. I will reallocate those funds to other envelopes.
