Your expression was priceless when you crawled out and saw 4200 horsepower. Just like a little kid at Christmas. That’s what this is all about and whether you recognize it tells whether you’re a gear head or not. Steve is a full fledged certified gear head. Don’t ever doubt it. Really enjoy your excitement and to think you designed and built it yourself. That’s why his motto is “Innovation not Imitation “. So true. Congratulations Steve, you deserve it!!!

You never cease to amaze me, Steve. Like you always emphasize, your engines are ultra-powerful, ultra-durable, drag and drive engines, which are built to last. Many production engines and components aren't made to last these days because there's no money to be made that way. The problem everyone is having is getting the horsepower to the track without blowing the tires off. I can't wait to see how well the wagon rips down the track. 👍🏼💯🇬🇺

@@brawndothirstmutilator5863 A bunch of people put hundreds of miles per day on the same engine and others that are similar. Raceweek can be over 1000 miles for the entire event. Finnegan has driven Blasphemy across the country and that is a hemi which has proven to be unreliable vs. the SMX that is built for this purpose. What about methanol? This engine runs on 93 pump gas. Different plugs....yes, no problem. It is a $100,000 engine. They change and check plugs all the time. Valve adjustment doesn't change much, but they do check it often and change it for running on the street. They race, then take the spud out of the fuel pump and switch to 93 octane and lash the valves for the street and then run hundreds of miles to the next track. This is the entire reason he builds the SMX. He has even said that there are promod engines that can make more power than his and better choices for a slower street car, but if you want to run 6 second or even 5 second quarter mile runs and be able to drive to the next track without constantly having problems with the engine, then this is what you need.

Yeah I'm always amazed at how many people who use turbos don't understand turbos don't work off exhaust FLOW, they work off exhaust TEMPERATURE. The hot side is designed to turn hot gas into cold gas by expanding it, and in doing so turn the heat into shaft power, if you just blow cold air at it it's not going to do much, because there's no heat to drive expansion.

Are you going to HR Drag week this year? I hope so, this looks like a beast Thought that was a 572, built like the old one. Thinking you went that way (540) to get away from the collapsing top ring land, glad you did. One thing to think about folks, everything that runs off the engine (rear end, transmission, oil pump, fuel pump ECT) it's possible to use about 20% of the total power. in this case would be about 1,000 hp, or so, this is a possible legit 5k HP engine

The 2 smaller throttle bodies have a better lower end than a single large. The crescent is less surface area as it cracks open. That's why they make oval throttle bodies. Also why a lot of the burnout guys that run top fuel hats plug some of the runners, with them all it has too much air to idle/low speed well. A top fuel/funny car doesn't ever need part throttle.

I'm pretty certain Tom Bailey has already done that, but his isn't a heavy station wagon body.

That’s wild power for a stock 90s wagon with an aftermarket flux capacitor!

That is a far cry from my grandmother's wagon that was the same, just blue in color. If she was still alive, she would laugh at seeing what a monster his car is...........granted the only thing that is sort of stock is the body/shell. More like a stock 90's wagon set on top of a promod car.

Do the vibrations from the dyno run transfer through the floor or air to the CNC machines and show up in the surface finishes?

Of greater concern than the surface finishes is how the measuring equipment is impacted. The Resolution of the gages should be at least 10 times more precise than what they are attempting to meaasure!

I think I'd get a big rush just standing next to the wagon when it puts that much power and torque to the ground. Man that engine looks like a piece of jewelry

I would love to see @RebuildRescue work with Steve on motors, cars and planes. They could also pick up the parts for Pearl!
