I grew up in a small rural farm town in Indiana. My family are all within a 50 mile radius. Aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. My uncle was going on vacation and had a couple thousand in cash in one of those banker bags that business use. He sat it on the roof of his car with his coffee while rearranging luggage and he forgot it. He drove home and when he realized what he done, was in a hysterical panic. We organized a search party to walk the trail he drove from the bank. About two hours into the search his wife got a phone call from the bank. Fortunately another customer found it, found the receipt with his name on it and took it back to the bank. Every dollar was still in inside the bag. And it turn out the guy who found it knew my uncle well. My uncle was the coach of his own boy's little league baseball team. I suppose there's a benefit of living in a small community. That boy went from 3rd string bench warmer to starting lineup. lol

In the farmer world, we say a 4x4 backhoe is the Swiss Army knife of equipment. Once you have one you can’t live without it... Seems like actual backhoe work, ( trenching, etc..) is the least of its chores! Most useful tool ever!

Thats a nice backhoe, my buddy has a JCB and the extendahoe is backwards. So the bucket is on the inside sleeve of the stick. so to mount a thumb you can't weld on the cylinder to the stick because it slides in and out.

Years ago when I worked for WSDOT we had a couple of Culvert's that were 44s they were being plugged by beavers we would get long post and I would do that exact same thing with a 6 by 6 shove it in and use it as a battering ram it worked

I've done a fair amount of work with a backhoe cat 428c and it was a very handy, you get really good at parking at just the right angle so as to reach and to dump . also when i had to i would fill the 4in1 with dirt to use as a counter balance a to help stability. 1500rpm is good for fine jobs with the hoe as it keeps the hydraulic pressure up

Hello Jeff. They are a bit restricted those centre mount backos. Anyway it should be a JCB only the best. You would probably have more chance of buying a CAT.

Check out Denny's driveshaft for all your u joint ball joint and axle shafts. It's all OEM at really reasonable prices. They usually have complete inner and outer front shafts with the u joint very reasonable compared to the usual suspects.

woulda been better off setting up almost paralll to the bridge, outrigger on the edge, swing off the side to grab, then can reach teh other side of the bridge deck.. or at a minimum set up at a 45..
