As a former US Army Infantryman, I am in a state of absolute awe at seeing someone hit a 4sq ft plate at over 2 miles. That is absolutely masterful marksmanship. Cheers!

When you're shooting at something so far away you have time to remove the case, put it in a box, and then look at the target to see the impact.

This is why I love your videos. It's just the two of you, you're shooting a 2'x2' target and you're spotting from the shooting location. You don't have 20 people scattered over the distance and you're not shooting at a barn door size target. I love it. Amazing job.

Mp57navy : You do not seem to know much about German law. You cannot legally buy any knive you want in Germany. There are certain knives that are illegal, so you are not allowed to buy or own them (e. g. Butterfly Knives). You can, however, buy knives with blades that are longer than 15 cm. You are allowed to own them, keep them in your household and carry them on your private property. But you are not allowed to carry them in public (with the above-mentioned exceptions).

The first time I hit 1000 meters with my 243 I thought I had accomplished something. Then I watch your channel and you're hitting double that. So now that I know it can be done I try harder. Same with my 308 and 300wsm though it doesnt quite have the boiler room a 300wm does. Anyways I wanted to thank you. You're efforts push me to push my own personal limits. Merry late Christmas.

I love how you have plenty of time to eject the brass case, put it in the ammo box and then look back through the scope to see the hit. The time compressed video of driving out to check the target conveys a sense of the extreme range. I was thinking of invading Australia, but changed my mind after watching this video. :-)

I was able to see the bullet in a single frame. Not quite enough resolution and frame rate for me to identify the pointy end but it appears to be moving in the correct attitude. It's not obviously tumbling in the frame. Fascinating. Thank you for another great video. Amazing.

Yes we found the bullets and can see that they are traveling point first and even more interesting they are travelling with little to no yaw, they would seem to have true aerodynamic stability or at least some, Cheers

I am currently getting my 10 year old into the long range stuff and can't wait to show him what you guys are doing, he is a cracking shot and I currently have him out to 700 meters with a steyr 223, obviously as he gets older I'm going to move him up to the bigger calibre, what do you think of the 338 Lapua as a long range gun? Or do you think I should look at something like what your using.

Hi Mat, lots of calibers to work up to the big stuff, go step by step, lot more likely to work out like that, try something in the 6, 6.5 or 7mm as the next logical step. Cheers

MarkandSam AfterWork some american shooters (from Hill Country Rifle) did 4549 yard shot with .375 CT. But they did that on a full team while you did this shot only with your wife (that is insanely awesome!!!). And what's even more insane is my Ballistics Calculator says the hit probabilty of your shot is probably only about 7% outta 100 shots :o

thanks again Man, yes we are trying to do all this as a real shooter and spotter team, and as hard as it may seem, I feel for us at least that a hit is only a hit on a standard size target, things don't get bigger the further away they get, but that's just me, Cheers and all the best.

Geeze, I am a competitive shooter, my furthest shot is only 500 yds but I still managed to get a 1.5 inch group in one of the competitions. This is some amazing shooting, I don't think I could do that. Cheers

Thanks Tod, may do, I really do minimal, but regular cleaning, a oiled barrel mop to see how dirty then patches till carbon clean, I do not use solvents. Anyway as said may do one in the future, with a heap more we have to do, Cheers

Outstanding shot and it is on a reasonable sized target...2x2. I've seen other extreme range shooters claim a "hit", but on a target taller than a six foot man, like 6x6 or more and no where near the mounted 2, 3 or 4 foot mounted circle target, just "on the board" somewhere. I know it a damn good shot from 2+ miles when you even hit a six or 8 foot square, no doubt, but like you said, this was a "proper hit". The indentation on the metal target at that distant is impressive as well. So, congratulations on an amazing shot, well done.

Hey what kind of spotting scope were you guys using? Do you have a few different spotting scopes you like to use or just that individual one?

That is a Yukon, it is a good cheap scope, we find it is good in good conditions, but we have others for not so good conditions, Cheers

Have just seen this. Another West Aussie here. Have been inspired by your other videos to get into precision rifle shooting. I see you have achieved amazing things with your .243 Howa....I currently shoot a .243 as my main rifle so would be good to keep the to one type of ammo. That said would it be limiting and therefore better to move to a 6.5mm etc? Thought I'd ask someone who actually knows. Keep it up....quite a brilliant shooting combination.
