A trailer for a movie teases you to go see the movie, the same rules apply here. If you like the house from the video then you will most likely go see it so you can see everything in person. Very rarely if ever does a buyer make a decision while online to buy a house. They make a decision to go see a house in anticipation to buy it. To much information may be a negative and the last thing any agent or anyone that has marketing experience wants is for a target to get turned off of a product because of a commercial. How many times have you see an awesome trailer for a movie or an excellent commercial for a product and when you actually saw the movie or bought the product it was way below your expectations. The same rule applies here only that this is a more important buy. We want the target buyer to call the agent, so we give them a taste in order to initiate them to contact. If you show everything you would have a extremely long boring video and stand the chance of the target losing interest. The video is not created to entertain me or you it is created to interest a serious buyer. We are talking millions of dollars here.

axiomproductions I agree , no buyer will buy houses while looking online. But show more highlights of the house instead of showing 10 angles of the kitchen. And commercial product and estate realty don't apply same rules marketing.. Trust me😉

voibits same sules apply in all product marketing whether it be a can of beans or a 10 room mansion, have to disagree. Yes I agree with you on a few less angles for time purposes but at the same time, kitchens sell, living rooms sell, exterior sells, living areas sell, master sells not bedrooms and not basements. Don't think I would buy a home if it had a beautiful basement. I can take or leave the basement but not the kitchen or living spaces. Leave a little for a prospective buyers imagination. Like I said too much info may turn someone off. In real estate tours less is more... Trust me, doing this since the 80's. I was doing real estate tours on video with beta cam and MII. We were duplicating on vhs and shipping tapes all over the world. Only mansions and million dollar properties warranted such productions. Cut my teeth on this marketing before the internet. Always learning till today but I do know a little something something. ☺

This was my first thought as well. After watching a 7 and a half minute video a buyer should know whether or not a home fits their most basic criteria (number of bedrooms/bathrooms). Instead of spending 30 seconds on the family room & 40 seconds on the kitchen there could have been 10 second clips of the rest of the bedrooms at least! A trailer for a movie can't give too much away because they want people to PAY to go see the rest of the movie. Buying a house is very different and comparing it to buying a can of beans is ridiculous. A viewer wouldn't even know if they should mention this house to their real estate professional because they have no idea if it meets their needs.
