Regarding the Dwarf 3 i should recive one soon, hoppely this month, after dwarflab will finish quality testing on the first units, they agreed to sent me a Dwarf 3 to test it. stay tuned, when i will have it in my hands will be able to provide more feedback

I hope the IR Cut filter is better on D3 than it is on D2. It seems they still think most astro images should be IR pass yet I find most need IR Cut (to avoid Star flaring and improve focus).

I asked Dwarflab about this, and they said it will work well without star bloating. But there is still the option to not use the astro filter and disable it from settings if wanting so

Hope the Dual filter is better than when D2 came out as it was rubbish and fixed it. If it's rubbish from the start and being built in your screwed

@@dennisrogers6786 Were some issues with the inistiald 2 fitlers, i had one also that did not let enough ha through. I do not think dwarflab will do this mistake to put a bad internal quality filter, in whorst case scenario if it would be a problem will fix it before shiping the new dwarf 3 scopes, i do not see any reason at the moment to worry

Also, will the AI post processing be able to edit earlier taken photos with the D2. That would be super 👍

Many of the features from the app will work on dwarf 2 but i think the postprocessing algorithms must be different for the Dwarf 2

Do you feel that the Dwarf 3 will now beat the image and ease of use of the Seestar? I have been going back and forth. I like the wide field of the dwarf. Would use for scenery and Deep Space, and moon shots as well.

The field of view, astro plan, mosaic, and having 2 sensors one for deep sky and one for widefield lens that will make possible later on when software feature will be ready to image also the milky way and dso objects in the same time are some attractive features that would make dwarf 3 more attractive then seestar s50. I hope in a few weeks I will get the dwarf 3 and properly test it

Another question to ask Dwarflab is about the memory card. If I read correct it’s going to be an electronic memory card, meaning it’s build in? How do we get the images out of the Dwarf 3 onto for example my iPad Pro? (because I don’t have a PC). Now I just get the memory card and put it in my usb-hub and I can easily save them on the ssd drive connected to my M4 iPad Pro. Just wondering…

I am not sure. If.you could conect the ipad to the dwarf with wifi may e you could download that way. But is best to ask dwarflab this

@@GalaxyArtMedia Ah, I found out this afternoon. If you connect your Dwarf II via usb-c cable with the iPad Pro and set it up as MTP (which according to the app only works on Windows), and you open an FTP client on your iPad, fill in the IP-address on port 21, you can connect to the SD card. I could see all files and folders on the SD-card and I could even move an 800 mb folder with files to the iPad Pro. That took me 5 minutes and after they were downloaded I could save those files to a connected ssd-drive (which took me half a minute). So it does work, it’s not fast, but at least this way I have a way to move the files of the embedded multimedia card onto my tablet 👍

I just wondering why there no actual images that were taken from D3? Unlike S50, where they keep showing how is the image look like before the official launch. I brought D2 only after I saw the real photo from the social media. Same goes to S50. So for this time round, I will just wait till I see the actual photos.

I have the 2 and the mechanical focus froze making it useless. Good customer service and they sent me another one. I have a seestar and the level adjust was no longer working making it useless. Seestar said to calibrate the level and blamed me for the problem, they refused to honor the warranty saying it's my fault. The Dwarf 3 now looks excellent and I like the fact that I can setup the exposure then forget about it and will automatically expose and capture according to the time. I will most likely buy the 3.

Hi. I am glad that dwarflab sent you another unit and you are happy with the dwarf2. I think getting the dwarf3 is worth it. Is a big upgrade with the new sensor and also the other improvements

I had already decided that if the price was right, I was going for it! Sometimes, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission 😉 I’ll wait until I have them side by side before I decide what to do with my beloved DWARF II 😀 Buzz and Woody syndrome!

It's not star atlas is the reason I don't use my D2, Seestar is better and larger aperture and better and easier app to use

The planets will look better on dwarf 3 but not great you need much larger telescope for planets. So you van upgrade to dwarf for deep sky and buy a larger aperture one like a newtonian or.maksutov for planets

One additional expense for new users will be a leveling tripod which is not included with the DWARF III.

What? To my knowledge only a S50 needs leveling, the Dwarf 2 & 3 do not. I've never had an issue with my D2

Hi. I think the dwarf tracks better if is leveled, but even if not perfectly leveled i got good results so i am not sure how big of a difference really makes

@@KeithFeickert Usualy women like this small telescopes. Maybe you can give present to your wifethe Dwarf 2 and you can use the Dwarf 3. I remember on my second date with my girlfriend i did show here the dwarf telescope, she liked it alot, i did show her a comet live and also the Orion Nebula

I am a Dwarf II owner. And frankly, this 3 model is a disappointment. The Seestar is a much better unit at the same price. The 3 will not be a MUCH better upgrade than the 2. its a SLIGHT improvement. Dwarf Labs should have taken aim at the Seestar and either equaled or surpassed that scope. Especially since they are asking the same amount of money.

I am sorry you think that. The hardwere improvments are far more then slight improvments, only the imaging sensor should improve the image quality significantly comapred with the dwarf 2 and added the other upgrades dwarf 3 should give atleast the quality of the seestars s 50 but with a larger field of view and better mobility

Even if Dwarf 3 cost $200, I wouldn't buy it. Maybe I would buy it for the same price that I could sell my Dwarf 2 for. Or with a small additional payment. For my purposes, my Dwarf 2 is quite enough for me. And no one is going to give me any discount, because I bought my device here in Europe, in a German online store. There is a feeling of some kind of deception and swindle.

A very good review thanks, I’ve ordered one. It’s a pity about the rather long wait though, summer will be almost over by the time it comes. Incidentally, I’ve have been in touch with Dwarf Labs and confirm the tripod isn’t included in the box. Galaxy Art Media, do you know what the charging voltage is?

If Dwarf had a 50mm lens would have killed Seestar, but aperture of Dwarf 3 is still to small

35 or 50 are both small apertures not such a big difference between. Focal length and sensor can compensate.if you want large aperture go with a an 8 or 10 inch newtonian but a good setup with mount camera and everting can cost you between 7k and 10k $

Quite a big difference between 35 abd 50mm accually the Seestar has a lot more light gathering abilty and resolution

Thanks, but no thanks! Dwarf buggy app needs to be fixed before lunching a new hardware. Have both Dwarf 2 and Seestar S50 and S50 works flawless and I wish Dwarf app would work as good. I would pay 3x -4x times more for smart telescope with at least 70mm aperture, 280-350mm FL, and 8MP and with optional software feature built-in to mount to proper use it in equatorial configuration. Maybe Dwarf 5 Pro or Seestar 70EQ Pro?
