A busy summers day at Manchester Airport. Forecast for a hot & sunny few days across the UK so I decided to take a long overdue trip to Manchester airport, my first visit back since the reopening of the southern runway 23L/05R.
I stayed at Manchester a good 8 hours this day, arriving at 7am and leaving just after 3pm. My usual spot on the "mound" by the threshold of 23L was vastly overgrown. Hedges & trees towering above the fence and spoiling the view. So I moved down further along the bank to a different location, still close up to get the awesome spool ups of the planes and with a clear enough view down the runway to catch them rotating.
This is the first video from this trip to Manchester, around 11am I headed further down to the other end of the runway to the "rotation point" to catch them lifting off. So look out for that video coming too.
This video includes all the action from the threshold, the ground shaking spool ups. 45 to be exact in this 47 minute long video. So turn up the volume and enjoy the show!
