45 Vase pour on a Turner with canvas below - Loving the look

Welcome to another video. Today I tried painting a vase on my turner instead of upside down pouring from the bottom. I put the paints on one color at a time repeating the colors until I had coverage of all the vase surface. I placed an 8x10 canvas underneath to catch the drips and added a flip cup before tilting to have enough paint. After these were finished I had a few ounces of paint left so I did 2 4x4 canvases just for fun.
Paints Used:
Amsterdam Quinacridone Rose
Deco Art Americana Decor Metallic 24K Gold
Liquitex Basics Dioxazine Purple
Folk Art Treasure Gold Fire Opal
Artist's Loft Metallic Cobalt Blue
Arteza Pearl Amethyst Purple
PM is 2 parts Floetrol and 1 part Liquitex Pouring Medium mixed with 1 part paint

Hi Marilyn, that turner is from Amazon. It is a WAQONUY double cup turner. There are lots of good cup turner options on Amazon.

I absolutely love the colours. I think if I were to do this I would put a much larger canvas under the vase and make the a pair, for gift or sale. Where did you get the turner you used for the vase please?

Thanks Carol. These paints are mixed with a pouring medium to a ring pour consistency, mound on a mound.

Is the resin a 2part mix? And what do you cover rhetorical canvas’ with? They are all beautiful!

Thanks, the resin is a 2 part 1:1 ratio mix. You can use the same resin to cover both the vase and canvas once the paint has dried and cured. You could also use varnish instead of resin.

Thanks, you do not have to use resin but you need to seal it. Can use a varnish instead of resin.

This is beautiful. Can I ask what you do with the canvas? Sell it? How would someone use it if they purchased it. If it were really large they would probably hang it but small????

They were bought as a set. They displayed the painting on a small stand next to the vase which they put flowers in. Nice side table art.

Absolutely beautiful, do you add floetrol to every color? Also could you recommend a good pouring medium to mix with floetrol?

For this pour I used 2 parts Floetrol and 1 part Liquitex Pouring Medium (Grey label) for my PM. Depending on the paint it was mixed starting at a 3 parts PM and 1 part paint ratio and then paint or PM were added to get the consistency. You want a thicker mound on a mound for vase work.

Thank you, the vase is glass. I used a tumbler turner, you mount the vase on a plastic rod with a mounting spongevto hold in place.

Which acrylic paints can I use the Walmart acrylic paints?

You can use any acrylic paint but I would recommend getting better paints if you want it to last. Deco Art, Folk Art, Liquitex Basics and Artist's Loft are good lower price paints.

A tumbler turner. A small machine that has rods that rotate with various size foam cores that you mount a tumbler, cup or vase onto. I got mine on Amazon.
