I've got an electric column as well (Corsa in my case) and I replaced the rotary pot with a five position switch with resistors wired to each position. One gives me maximum assistance for manoeuvring around the pits etc and the other 4 are spaced equally apart in the bottom range of the old rotary as I never had it passed a quarter from off on track. I used to get weird cut-outs all the time on it which went away completely with the switch. My theory was that the wipers on the pot were affected by vibration and/or heat.

I've just realised that Phil takes an old BMW E30 to track days, a Lamborghini to drift events and daily drives a 992 GT3. Anyone else would take the 992 GT3 on track, an E30 to drift events and daily drive a Lamborghini! He's definitely commited to using cars for his intended purpose and not the typical ones haha!

The imparity of speed between the two e30’s is fascinating! Jay, your lift off oversteer in those high speed corners can be reduced by adding a bit of throttle. Not much, just enough to move the CG back into the rear tires. Also, had the same thing happen to me with the throttle pedal on my e30 at the Nurburgring some years back. A nice bike fellow with a van full of bike parts gave me a zip tie and it held me over for the rest of the weekend…I removed the zip tie for a proper c-clip over a decade later 😂

The new Eventuri sounds so good. It reminds me of the intake sound on my e36, after I got an s50 carbon airbox for it. So throaty. Utterly gorgeous.

Both E30 track cars are so cool, but that M3 is a damn Monster ! Once all the little ticks are sorted it will be almost perfect until you mod it again. Just get it sorted out and enjoy it, I would.

Phil what is the onboard cam setup you have, doesn't look like its on a helmet? Also you electric power steering colum might be overheating? Not too uncommon with these kinds of setups when running big slicks & lots of power, hydraulic is the way to go for that i'm afraid.

On the corsa steerkng columns loads of us have had issues with the cheaper controllers packing in. You need to get one from beadyrace they produce them for dakar vehicles. Trouble free epas.
