Exploring Abandoned Mines

7 жыл бұрын

Down a 1,000 ft shaft to explore claims of a secret underground bunker and Ghosts. A place very few have been able to reach in this 3,000 ft deep mine! The Remac was a large Zinc and Lead mine that sunk a 3000 foot shaft that went under a river right next to the USA border. The mine closed in the early 70s and the buildings in the town were sold at auction and hauled away.

That is great to hear. Nothing makes me happier than being able to produce films that bring these wonderful places to generations in the future long after they are collapsed and caved in. It would be great to produce a film that is narrated by someone who actually worked there.

We lived in Remac , moved there in 1948. My dad was the cook and for the first while we lived in a tar paper shack down on the river. Moved up to the mai townsite after the the first bunch of houses were built. Left in probably 52 or 53 when it first started to play out. Years later dad cooked in a tent camp across the river for a diamond drilling crew working in the Redbird. I used to spend weekends with him and went underground with the crew one day. Very strange feeling for a fourteen year old.

I watch many mine investigation channels and yours is the best. You take risks and go into places others would turn away from. That makes you and your channel A+ in my opinion. Keep up the good work, and I hope KZfaq gets back to paying creators the amount of money that they should be getting.

@@timsawchuk8441 yeah, best to go with someone who knows it. I went through salmo, down pretty much right to the border then drove down the pend d'oreille road for maybe 15 minutes? Been a while now. Recall running a three-drum slusher and small scraper in tiny square set gold stopes a few years back. Looking up some of those Shrinkage Stopes brings back memories too. I was there with some friends in 1989 It was fall time. We just went down to the first level. A bit spooky as in dangerous so we left safely wondering what was down there our friend Scotty had the actual map and he had a scale sized Empire State building to compare. I wish I could find that map from the mines Dept. Probably in Archives somewhere. We drove to the bottom by the river there was a large drift that was probably connected to the large main shaft. We supposed Great work by the way. I was riveted. Thank you.

I have wonderful memories of living on the mining property when I was a kid, mid sixties for five years. The guys worked so hard but rents were inexpensive with company housing. Hello Thanks for your great films , you are very brave because I cant help thinking one false move and you could fall into a deep flooded shaft and never be seen again. I also think about your poor dog and the terrible thing that happened to him.. Personally I would never have taken a dog into such dangerous places ..

Amazing video! Too dangerous for me, though.

For flooded mines I kind of wonder about those submersable drones! Still possibly low oxygen water may preserve stuff. Only problem is those things tend to use a teather so you have to carry this roll of cable around amoung other things like the veiwing console and of course the money factor is always fun.
