I really want to read the T. Kingfisher book, that cover alone is so spooky! I'm impressed that you're enjoying Deadly Education, I struggled with that one, there was too much danger with no reprieve from it haha, I might try it again in a few years, I'm also new to Novik so maybe I'm just not used to her style.

Yeah, during the last few years I've accrued over $10k in medical debt even while avoiding medical care unless I was incapacitated, plus a car payment, so my student loans are just not gonna get paid or else I'm gonna be homeless. Wish I were kidding. It's either housing or loans, and I choose housing.

Finish the trilogy first. Stolen Heir is a follow up duology based around a character who I believe is first introduced in the last book of the trilogy and Jude's brother Oak at 17/18.

Congrats on the wedding and best wishes to you and Clay on your marriage. Hope student loan repayments don’t impact to much. I was lucky to have the remaining balance of my student loan forgiven through the PSLF program. For anyone working as an public employee, check out if you qualify. I think the expansion of this program is over but it still exists. No longer having a student loan is a life charger for many. I’m now focused on saving enough for my son to avoid student loans when he’s old enough to go to college.

Why are you entitled to have your student debt forgiven when so many others have worked hard to pay theirs off? You know when you sign those loan papers that you are agreeing to repay the money with interest. This isn’t a bait and switch situation. Could we argue that tuition cost is out of control, and that inflation and interest rates are killing us all? Absolutely. We could even argue that some or all post secondary education should be free given that most jobs require a degree these days (often a graduate level degree). I still don’t believe you are entitled to have your loans forgiven. All it does is shift the liability for your debt to taxpayers - many of which never went to college or have already worked to pay for their education. What about future students who need to fund their education with loans? Do we forgive their debt too? We’d be caught in a never-ending cycle of debt forgiveness and taxpayers would suffer for it. These debts don’t just vanish - the government is going to get their money one way or another.

This is debt forgiveness for people who have been paying them for 20-25 years already and only 5 states are taxing this relief, guess what party they belong to lol, (Mississippi, North Carolina, Indiana, Wisconsin & Arkansas).

I'm applying for the SAVE plan through the U.S. Department of Education. its called the Saving on a Valuable Education plan. Basically if you are a single household making under $32,800 a year your payment plan is $0 a month, and if you are a family of four earning $67,500 or less your payment plan is $0. Other borrowers will save at least $1,000 per year on payments.

No one is responsible for a persons student loan debt other than the person who took out the loan. What we actually need to work on is the ridiculous cost of tuition in the US. That is the problem. The problem is not that people made poor choices, chose a major that doesn't pay well, took out loans, and now they can't repay them. It's no different than any other loan. If your name is on the loan, then you are responsible for repaying it. Also, congratulations on your wedding. I hope you have a great honeymoon.

Ironically enough all the conservatives blocking student loan relief got hundred of thousands forgiven for themselves, what a sweet deal no? In this country adults are still paying their student loans till their 40's and 50's, and I'm one of them. Education should be affordable otherwise you have to work your entire life to pay off the right to have a degree in order to get a job.

Trades pay really well and you don't need 4 years of college. Life is about choices. There are consequences, good or bad, for those choices.

It's not often a choice to take a career that doesn't pay well. If you need a job you take a job, and with the cost of living at an insane high, very few companies actually pay enough. And I'd feel different, maybe if all the congress people rallying against student debt relief didn't get millions of dollars in PP loans forgiven themselves.

Gonna read that book !! About student loans. It’s a loan you pay it back just like I had to. No one made you take out the loan but you wanted a college education right? Why should you get it for free on the backs of those who didn’t take out a loan because they didn’t want debt or had to work full time and couldn’t got to college.
