Is there anything more magical than a snowy winter weekend in Prague? This was the last stop on our winter European Christmas markets tour and it absolutely blew me away.
From the absolutely gorgeous snowcapped buildings in the old town to Prague’s sprawling Christmas markets and the unique foodie stops (hello chimney cakes!), here is everything I did, ate and saw when spending 48 hours in Prague this past winter.
I’ll take you to explore Prague Castle’s grounds as the snow comes down, stop in at a brewery in a monastery and see Prague’s beautiful Strahov Library. We’ll also eat our way around the city, from food at the Christmas markets to hidden cocktail bars and food tour around the city.

Oh, Prague is beautiful in the Winter!!! We visited there about 8 years ago, but didn’t get to spend much time at all. Would love to return!

Czech Republic is one of the youngest countries in Europe. It was used to be part of Czechoslovakia. It was used to be communist until 1989 when it turned into democratic. Czechoslovakia split into two countries; Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. Czech Republic is an atheist country which means Czechs are more liberal and tolerant, whereas Slovakia is a Catholic country which means Slovaks tend to be more socially conservative

It was so interesting learning about this on our tour - our guide was from Slovakia but had been living in Prague for the last decade or so (I believe). My family is originally from Hungary and learning about the crossover in traditional food across these countries is always fascinating!
