Visit www.squarespace.com/flyingthenest - One of our main reasons for visiting Mongolia was to take the time to learn how the Nomads of Mongolia live in such a rugged country. We are spending the next few days living with a local nomadic family.

Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a traveling family who spent 2020 self-converting a van before moving in full-time to drive around our home country of Australia. We have now completed our lap, said our goodbyes, and resumed full-time travel before we wait for our second baby to arrive.

While here in Italy some "tourists" carve their names on the Colosseum or take a plunge into the Fontana di Trevi, you two are showing the world that travelling is exactly what you're doing. Trying to understand other Cultures, showing Hunter that human beings can be beautiful and generous, no matter the country they're living in. You are educating your little ones to be open and respectful of nature and people! This Mongolian series is the best one, so far. Also I was moved to tears watching Hunter cuddling her little brother. She is wonderful!! Love you guys!!

I was so upset about that tourist carving those names on the colloseum. So insanely disrespectful PS: I'm not the Hayley whose name is now permanently carved into the colloseum

@@hayleysmith4845 🥰I agree with you! it was really upsetting! And a few weeks later a teenager did the same. She claimed she didn’t know that the Colosseum was that old. 🤦🏻‍♀️ As if had it been newer should have given her the right to ruin a facade! People’s minds are fascinating🙄
@HannahJ
@HannahJ Жыл бұрын
We’re from the UK but live in Denmark - the guy at the Colosseum was a Brit I believe. We visited Rome about 7-8 years ago and absolutely loved it. Can’t believe someone would engrave their initials in it 🤦🏻‍♀️ what a plonker! We got back from adventure and our motto for the whole trip to our 9 year old was “leave footprints and take memories” because he has a thing about collecting stones but when we visited part of the Berlin Wall he was being grumpy and we had to have words about respecting the places we visit so that they are there for other people to explore and enjoy after us.

Some random Norsemen carved their names into the Hagia Sofia a thousand years ago, and people today see it as a neat bit of history.
@MariaFrancaSerrau
@MariaFrancaSerrau 11 ай бұрын
@@James_Wisniewski absolutely true! a lot of ancient buildings and palaces all around the world have names carved on them. But, they were still not part of world’heritage. They were simple building representing religion beliefs, or administrative sectors of the big places invaders would claim as theirs. Let’s say they were the graffiti of those times. Nowadays, I dare every tourist to write their name on the Hagia Sofia, or the basement of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C or in every historical monuments all around the world, and see what happens🙂

This is absolutely amazing! Mongolia is one of those countries that I've always been a bit fascinated by. There is not a ton of information out there about it. Not too many people travel there, and even less make videos about it. I'm stunned by how green and flat it is, and the people are so kind and accommodating, not to mention more "Western" than I expected (i.e. the Gordon Ramsey t-shirt). It's so nice to see Jess so giddy getting to cross this country off her bucket list. Hunter is adaptable as ever, finding adventures and having fun wherever she goes (so rare for a child). And Koa is just happy to be included. 😊As always, thank you for taking us along for the ride! ❤

It's common and tipical scene deep,in the countryside,when the locals are extremely hospitable,kind and nice with comparing...the capital's citizens😉 In an absolute VIRGIN Nature our ppl are just in the way of their older generation:their greats. They are not spoiled,"poisoned" by big cities...hehe. The Nature gives them BACK everything what they deserved working hard with no...stress nor negativeness by what the big city is...overloaded: - terrible traffics out streets; - overloaded by citizens( half of TOTAL population of Mongolia is "living" in the capital as a huge ants'...nest!) - and of course,unemployment as the result of uncontrolling moving Mongolians from the countrysides since early '00 ! That's why the countrysides are in much better situations:less ppl with less problems. Welcome to my beautiful country - Mongolia! With regards, from Ulan-Bator. 2023-08-06

My two sons and I spent a few weeks in Mongolia in 2006. We took a 6 night tour of the Gobi. We absolutely loved everything about it. Our driver was amazing although I still don’t understand how he knew his way around with no roads. The nomads were so lovely and extremely hospitable and their children so adorable. Mongolians are very inquisitive and were extremely interested in everything. We had taken gifts of fruit, veg and sweets which all the different incampments really appreciated. I can totally recommend a visit. You’ll never have experienced peace like it. ♥️🇬🇧

You & Steve are the greatest parents teaching your children (right now Hunter) the world learning about their livelihood, how to milk a cow, the different ways to use milk, how they don’t waste food. Watching your videos I get to see so so many things in other countries. How Mongolia lives and no roads, bridges just open green fields and you just drive. How is so adorable when she said “ Look at this View” love her. I love how you can explore the country and learn new things and Hunter also gets the same view in the front seat. Koa will be able to watch the blogs and learn as well. You both are amazing parents you are kind, understanding, loving, funny, teaching us a lot about the places you have been and going too. Thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤

For people who want to travel to Mongolia: please do visit Mongolia during summer, as winters have extreme freezing temperatures. Also, Mongolia is one of few countries that still has untouched natural habitats and when you get out of the city - nothing surrounds you - feels like time literally stops. You’ll be fascinated by the raw beauty and Mother Earth. ❤️

The expressions on your faces are priceless. No shower for days. The restroom facilities. The unusual foods. Thanks for introducing the four hired guides. I'd love to know more about their personal lives.How much interaction have they had with outside families visiting? Do they have the trip already planned for you? They seem fine with handling your children. What happens if a vehicle breaks down? I'm assuming they are carrying extra fuel. I have so many questions about how the native people felt about your visit and how they communicated.

I absolutely loved Hunter saying "MMMMM" without actually taking a bite first. That's such a silly kiddo thing and it absolutely cracks me up when I see them do that! And her and Koa were ADORABLE in their Mongolian outfits! That's going to make for some absolutely incredible memories! :D
