I too enjoy Nick’s tours of motor cruisers which in my view is what he should stick to, following his competence. He knows little about sailing boats including not pronouncing their manufacturer’s names correctly and even less about cars. I enjoy being educated by such videos rather than being reduced to criticism where the author is out of his depth.

It's not a proper boat without a real chart table. On 50' yacht specifically described as blue water capable that is unacceptable. You need a real station at the base of the companion way with a proper seat, including a back with shoulder bolstering and all of your instruments, coms and chart space right at hand. Up on deck it's got these big water features, but down below everything nowadays is Med compromised. Trying to multifunction the most critical workspace on the entire boat the nav station. Trying to get real work done, work through an emergency, or pour through manuals while you're in a Force 6+ You are going to be on the floor immediately. That's not a place to get any real safety critical work done.

@@otm646 What you are saying is absolutely true, but no offense intended I would consider nit-picking, because these are relatively easy fixes at a modest price considering the basic boat design being, or seeming to be, extremely sound. Is it the perfect boat for me? Not by a long shot, but it is a step above most boats in this price range and this era. My comment was mostly intended as somewhat tongue in cheek rather than literal, because I see so many crappy sailboats in this range, and as a Yank I find the British common terms to be funny, so I throw them out without intending it to be taken literally - terms like "Proper" this or that. I forget sometimes that others often take what you post literally when it was intended as something of an inside joke. Not your fault at all - I just get caught up in the moment and I forget that others are often taking this more seriously than I am. lol Personally, if I had the money to afford any boat to retire and sail the world, I would probably get a Dashew FPB. At almost 60 and in failing health the benefits of actually sailing are extremely attractive including the extreme quiet, but being primarily a life long powerboat owner, getting there affordably, quickly, and reliably, without depending on a fickle wind far outweigh them. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. :) Have a great day! =D
