Good evening Bob, on the shore end of the system there is an 8' by 8' box built from railway ties and filled with stone.Attached to that is a gang plank which is attached to the floating docks. This allows the floating docks to go up and down with the tide. About 7' where we live. Everything attaches with pins similar to attachments on the tractor. My next video I will show the dock. Good evening Mike, you are the only person to ask about the hoist and barrel. We use that float to dry dock our runabout. If you look at the float before it goes into the water you will notice that most of the floatation is in the center. This allows the float to tip and become a ramp when we haul the boat onto it. Once the boat is on the float we hoist the barrel which is full of water and it acts as a counter balance and levels out the float. This way the float sits level with no wood in the water.
