Bali rafting got me laughing! But it’s true that company makes a whole lotta difference. Been to Japan twice with different people, one who forgot to bring money and did not activate overseas withdrawal before flying in, ended up need to lend her money (and I was broke af back then because I just graduated) and mainly need to worry about my companion having enough money or forgot her luggage in the stations, and then the other one who is just one blessed soul Choose your travel companion wisely people

I learnt that you should never take distance advice from the hotel concierge, they're always way too optimistic and positive. Singapore: "oh, the seafood village is just down the beach, just head straight down, once you hit the beach, turn left, and walk a bit and you'll see it." took me 45 mins to get there. Perth: me : "looks like there's anice trail on the other side of the river, I googled it, looks kinda runable, its what, about 10km?" Concierge: "Yup! people run there all the time, its a lovely trail!" took me 16km to finish that 10km run. other than that, I guess I'm way too flexible when it comes to the actual travel cos i've been to shenzhen and hong kong, thailand etc and never found something unbearable. It's always been lovely, and while there were times when there were no lights on the mountain road we had to walk to get back to our residence etc, I've always appreciated the different experiences during my travels.

20 mins in and I already agree with mingyue, love chinese food but china... i just came back from shenzhen as well, went into this corporate office of a friend of my dad's that is apparently some VIP at that area, walked in two steps and there was a puddle of pee RIGHT OUTSIDE THE TOILET smh

I'm still open to traveling to China justsayin. Maybe after corona tho

I gotta say though, even though i have not been to any western country. I know for a fact that xenophobia is very strong there...My grandmother had some western friends cause, she just does, and as much as they are nice, they can be very rude when it comes to opinions. I would love to visit Seattle because i'm such a fan of the Space Needle but knowing that i'll be hammered with slurs and insults everywhere is where it makes me NOT want to go and just admire from the distance.
