I bought some jeans at the flea market and I am sharing how I make a soft cover junk journal using denim pieces. In this 2nd part I am making the signatures and sharing a flip through once it's finished. This is a Digital Collage Club Design Team project (please see links below).

I have been with you for many years: watched hundreds of hours of videos, through 2 different apartments and billions of nail color changes, for splatters and smooshes, through your falling in love (then out of love) with Vintage Photo; I was there to comfort you when you mourned the discontinuation of Wild Honey Stain, then celebrated alongside you when you found your beloved Speckled Egg paint; witnessed too many collaborations to remember, consumed far too many "snacks," and laughed way too hard at your sped-up maniacal laughter; I watched with fascination when we were both brand new and the trepidation shook your voice, and have seen you bloom into the amazingly talented, CONFIDENT artist you always were. And *THIS* , my beautiful friend, is hands down my favorite journal you have EVER made. It is absolutely stunning, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I got actual chills when you did the flip through at the end. What a breathtaking masterpiece by a truly talented and wonderful human. Thank you for being my "friend," and inspiring me and bringing calm and peace into my chaotic world. You are just what my soul needs 💙🩵

You did so much with 2 pairs of Levi’s and a Levi Jacket!! So many of the elements were so cute and feminine. I loved seeing all the pieces and how you placed them all. I noticed also, when you open the Journal so you’re looking at the 1st inside pocket, your favorite Dauber, Honey, looked so good because you could see a yellow paper in the first signature on the right side. Very classy. I’ve never seen the fabric in the book before. I love that you can print on it. Ok, as usual, I’m rambling. I just love seeing everything come together! Beautiful!

This is the coolest journal! I love all the ideas of what you saw in these jeans and how you used them. Amazing journal! Looking at the photos you used, the one of the ladies in aprons…my Great Grandma was a pastry cook at a school and I have a picture if her and her coworkers in their aprons just like the one you have. I cut fabric and grabbed a insulated paper package for a junk journal and thought I’d see how you put one together. Fun ideas Barbara, and now I can get to work, after watching both videos. You given me not only the basics, which I was pretty sure of, but also so,e fun ideas. I like the idea of using crackle paste, spray inks, and embossing powder on fabric. When we moved across country 6 years ago at the age of 63, I decided to let go of my box of jeans. Sure wished I’d saved some. Guess,I’ll hit the thrift stores. Love the closure idea, you came up with. Thanks again, Barbara for all the videos you have done. Going through them, along with the current ones is always fun. I find your giggle absolutely wonderful. Your giggles cheer me up whenever I’m not feeling well and your ideas keep me in the art room and creatively busy.

What a fabulous journal. I think this is absolutely the best journal I've seen that has been made from jeans because you didn't just use the fabric on the cove. I loved the way you used different elements from the clothing and turned them into pockets, tabs etc. I loved the flip through of the journal at the end. Thanks again for sharing.

Wow, Barbara! This is so wonderful! I just love the textures with the different fabrics and papers! That center butterfly backed with the denim is so engaging and I just love the use of a paper bag handle with brads! Honestly, there are so many elements of this journal I’m excited about…the denim-backed tabs, the use of different parts of the jeans, I could go on on. Well done! One thing I just love about watching you is your willingness to just try. That is always an inspiration to me.

I've done it! I have finished creating a denim journal base. I haven't don't much decorating inside but the cover and signatures are all together. Now I have somewhere to collage in, and follow more of your inspiration!!! First thing aim going to try is your pinterest inspired bird card to go in a belly band I have created. Thank you so much for helping me get moving. It's been quite a few months since I did anything junk journalling. Really enjoyed myself.

I finally bought a denim skirt at the thrift store, complete with worn holes, because ever since you posted the first video on this journal, I haven't been able to get it out of my head!
