“Apocalypse Now” (1979) won two Oscars for Best Cinematography and Best Sound and the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Director Coppola filmed the movie in Baler (Aurora), Pagsanjan (Laguna), and Iba (Zambales) in the Philippines. The movie grossed over $100 million. "Platoon" (1986) won four Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing & Best Sound. It also won numerous awards in Golden Globes, BAFTA, and a few to mention. Director Stone filmed the movie in Mount Makiling (Laguna), Cavite, Villamor Airbase (Pasay) and near Manila. The film grossed $12.9 million.

Wow this is my first time knowing survival shows film there. I'm so proud watching the cinematography I hope future cinematographers , or videographers Filipinos will develop more the industry to boost our economy as well.

That is why why as a Filipino/a been so many provinces ((work related), Palawan is the only place/province in the Philipines where I fell in love and dreaming to go back there someday soon.

I've been to Coron,Puerto Princesa and this coming July El Nido. It is a pristine paradise. Im Filipino and we have a lot to explore in the Philippines. It's a little bit expensive but you will create memories when you travel. We are blessed that this place is in our country.🙏

There was this American survival show entitled "Naked and Afraid XL" or "Naked and Afraid: Savage" (2018-2019) and "Naked and Afraid of Love" (2021) which is also a survival show but at the same time, a dating show. Both of these shows also took place in Palawan, Philippines.

Your info is lacking. In 1994, I was part of the Art Dept. crew from Philippine Film Studios Inc. Together with TOEI Company of Japan, we shot a Japanese World War 2 film. The title was " Kike Wadatsumi Nokoe". The actors were well known in Japan at that time. There were a lot of Japanese film crews and media from Japan were documenting the filming. We stayed in Palawan for about 7 weeks to finish the scenes.

I'll be watching 1521. Lapu-lapu is my hero. Chief Lapu-Lapu cocktail is one of my favorite Tiki cocktails. Cheers! 😎👍

A few seasons of amazing race They were in palawan too and in metro manila (in Pasay city to be exact) Fast and furious, apocalypse now and platoon. There may be some other movies too

The movie TAR was supposed to be filmed in the Philippines, but because of the pandemic, the local government did not allow them to shoot there. They shot it in Thailand but made it look like it was in the Philippines.

BTW the behind the scenes of the 1990 action movie made by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc. is Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection were shot in the government building in the Philippines located in Intramuros, Manila also known as the Walled City and then of course Tagaytay City in Cavite province

There was a mermaid movie film in Subic Bay and Olongapo by Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah.

And the movie Platoon. Story of american soldier fight in vietnam war Charlie Sean is the one of the main actor in the movie PLATOON

There were a movie also of Tom Cruise shoot in Amanpolo an island in Palawan

War movies like the Academy Award Winner "Platoon" fimed in Philippines Vietnam war Apocalypse Now and Hamburger Hill

That is why im wondering why the government facility of el nido still not develop and behind compare to other municipality in other areas of Palawan despite of rich tourism and golden invesent in the area..

Survivor was never filmed in Palawan. Seasons 25 and 26 were filmed in Caramoan(26 was aptly named Survivor Caramoan). Seasons 27 and 28 were in Cagayan(Season 28 is entitled Survivor Cagayan)
