Railway line Beograd - Novi Sad has undergone significant changes compared to the previously recorded cabviews. In some places, a completely new route was built, some line curves have been ironed out and the old single-track line became double-track line. It is the first railway line in Serbia for train speeds up to 200km/h.
This cabview was recorded from IC trains starting from Novi Sad to Belgrade and then in the opposite direction from Belgrade to Novi Sad. The first part of the video from Novi Sad to the south is very picturesque because of the beautiful colors of scenery twilight and the surrounding city evening lights.
The video was taken from the new Serbian Railways Stadler KISS EMU train. The first part recorded from IC train 551 (Novi Sad - Beograd Centar) and the second part from IC train 552 (Beograd Centar - Novi Sad). These trains did not have any stops during the filming.
The ride starts at upgrated part of station Novi Sad. The maximum allowed speeds are:
100km/h and 120km/h from Novi Sad to Petrovaradin,
160km/h from Petrovaradin to Sremski Karlovci and Karlovački Vinogradi,
200km/h from Karlovacki Vinogradi to Batajnica (41km of line, over Čortanovci, Beška, Inđija, Stara Pazova and Nova Pazova),
120km/h from Batajnica to Novi Beograd and
100km/h from Novi Beograd to Beograd Centar.
Timestamps for 200km/h ride are 09:40 and 48:10 in the opposite direction.
Train ride and engine driver are controlled by ETCS level 2 (European Train Control System). Movement authority and other signal aspects are displayed in the cab for the train driver. Train movements are monitored continually by the radio block centre using trackside-derived information. The movement authority is transmitted to the vehicle continuously via GSM-R or GPRS together with speed information and route data. The on-board computer continuously monitors the transferred data and shows the maximum permissible speed. During this recording there were no significant restrictions or obstacles along the track and the train was running at the maximum allowed speed on each part of the line most of the time.
The most important objects along the railway line are:
03:56 Bridge over the Danube River (Žeželjev most) ( L = 474m )
10:10 Bridge Čortanovci ( L = 2806m one track and L = 2861m another track )
11:00 Tunnel Čortanovci ( L = 1156m one track and L = 1087m another track )
28:35 Tunnel "Bežanijska kosa" ( L = 1921m )
