Күн бұрынJoin me for a virtual walking tour through Cluj-Napoca, a city rich with architecture, Gothic churches and medieval towers. Cluj-Napoca (or just Cluj as it is locally known,) is the unofficial capital of Transylvania and hosts the country's largest university, Babeș-Bolyai University, and a vibrant arts scene, encompassing theatre, galleries and music of every genre from jazz, to opera to electronica. Students and artists, bohemian cafes.
Our Romanian walk in 4K takes in much of the city's cultural centre including the Central Park, National Theater, Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral, Babes Bolyai University, Museum Square, King Matthias Corvin Statue and St. Michael's Church in Unirii Square.

Small town? Cluj is not a small town, it has a population of 300k, it is used by 500k people daily, and its projected to hit a population of 1 million.

If Romania's joining the anti-Eastern European team much like Hungary, Poland,Czechia and Slovakia, it has a better claim for Southern Europe. I mean, countries east of the Black Sea are not even considered Europe in most books, so yeah :D Hard to be Central, when the other part of the BlackSea is Euroasia/West Asia.

@@Kurrkabin The difference between Romania and other southern European countries is that more than 50% of Romania is actual central European since Transylvania is a bigger region than Hungary alone, and Romanians hate to be associated with Easterners.

yes, this town is beautiful, because it was built by germans and hungarians, check the other side of the carpathians, where the towns were built by romanians. absolutely different.

Bro, even Bucharest has gems. The Romanian Athenaeum for example. Eastern Romania looks the same, apart from being more affected by communism. Chill with the discrimination, Mr. Balazs. Hi, it's the second largest city in Romania, not a small town, with warm and beautiful people totally different from the ones in the Bucharest. Is has 2 modern football stadions, a great bothanical garden, a zoologic museum, an outdoor village museum, a casino park, a vantage point from Transilvania Hotel once called Belvedere, and a secondary point from Feleacu Hill, many churches, cathedrals, National Theatre, Hungarian Opera Theatre, many public squares, statues, tourist objectives, 2 cool and large shopping malls, city lake, sport and relaxing park in Gheorheni neighborhood and another in project, events, antique market on saturday, angelic food and coffee, the largest music festival in east Europe for 4 days & 4 nights (Untold) with 100000 participants, University Center, IT center and many more. Worth seeing. And of course the famous Baciu Forrest it's near by.

@Living Walks I did watched the whole video and some of the others too. I was surprised of the changes since the middle of 80's. I used to live almost on the end of the Becas street and Buna Ziua . Buna Ziua was nothing, but wheat fields there. No buildings just farm lands all the way to Calea Turzi. I seen your other video you took on the Buna Ziua, but I don't believe you went up on Becas, or at least I can not recognize it. Thanks again,

My DEAREST friends !! Sorry for my late view !! I was on holiday.... I spent two weeks at the seaside in the Marche region and then with my husband we spent 3 days in the mountains that were not planned. We left thinking of returning to Milan in the day, taking only a small suitcase with us in case we found a place to sleep and in fact we spent two nights and three days in Valle d'Aosta. We were lucky to find accommodation. They gave us two upgrades and we spent a wonderful night ... Unfortunately, Monday we go back to work !! I don't like my job at all, even if, as they say, every job ennobles the person. Anyway, my dearest friends! I hope you are having a great summer! Here in Italy, unfortunately, things are getting worse. We are not yet at a critical point, but the numbers are growing a lot in the last few days. Data that worry. We hope well! My dearest Y&M! You have kept me company for a wonderful hour, watching your video and your beautiful walk through this logo that I did not know and which is really very interesting and beautiful to visit. Truly every country has so much to offer ... Traveling for me is the most beautiful thing in the world and discovering a place by walking still is. I embrace you with all my love and wish you a fantastic and relaxing weekend. Love you, guys!! Renata

Hi there dear friend, it sounds like you had a great holiday.... Two weeks at the seaside in the Marche region and then 3 days in the mountains, wow. We are well here and yes we're having a great summer, hot and sunny every day more or less! We've just returned from 3 days in lovely Oxford and enjoyed it very much. How sad to hear that in Italy, things are getting worse and numbers are growing a lot. Oh dear I do hope they stabilise soon. Happy to have brought Cluj to you, a city we very much love. Oh yes, unfortunately the numbers have increased again. Not intensive care, fortunately, it seems to be mostly young people with few or asymptomatic symptoms. But we must be careful and not feed the outbreaks that have formed after returning from holidays. We hope well! I went back to work and there is so much to do. Less and less time to devote to YT, but I do what I can. I hope you enjoy the vacation videos. I haven't done many, but I hope they will turn out well. BIG HUG and much love from me, as always !! When I visit Cluj I'll avoid the orange opera house, the Iancu monument and the Orthodox cathedral. (Fortunately they are grouped together.) Otherwise the city is very attractive. Thanks for the video.
