This is exactly how I remember my childhood days (nights). I used to sleep with this beautiful and comforting sound. It gave me a safety feeling of being inside my family’s home, with my parents and siblings, while I fell asleep with the sound of a torrential rain falling on the zinc roof. I love rain and thunder. 💖💖

I remember going through a rainy day just like this when I was in Yokohama for the first time. Rainy days are always a charming day for me. I can never get enough of them.

Today it was drizzling outside where I’m at, nothing heavy and nothing too crazy which is sad. Everything rain absolutely fascinates me, the sound it makes, the visuals and scenery of rain, the slightly dark and grey atmosphere, seeing people rush to where they want to go so they don’t get soaking wet. Rain is just so calming and surreal. I wish I was there with you. It seems to rain a lot in Japan, where I’m at it barely rains and when it does I’m either asleep and it goes by quickly and all is see is the aftermath which is wet roads when I wake up or the rain is weak with some drizzles. Overall it’s been a while since it poured down hard. Hope fellow rain enthusiasts aka Pluviophiles are doing well 🌧☔️

I saw a video a while back about japanese people preferring clear umbrellas to see the rain drops to enjoy the rain . I didnt expect to see so much . What also impresses me is how flat the roads and pavement are and no building up of puddles

We live on the top floor, here in New Orleans in a very old landmark building (1856)..So when it rains heavily, as it often does in this part of the country, we can fall asleep at night with that same patter-patter on the roof. I love it, and always feel very comfy, snuggled in as I listen to the downpour sounds....

Rain is relaxing and the scenery is fantastic! I'm also amazed by how clear the road is. Car's are not trying to run your ass over just by walking around and living your life.

I can not imagine to live in such a big city. I love my small town with 30.000 people, farm animals and wide open landscape. But for a holiday trip i would enjoy that beautiful city!!!

I think it was 1976 or 77 when I visited Japan during Ocean Expo in Okinawa as a little boy. It was raining like this in Haneda Airport when we landed.

I like heavy rain cuz everything looks better in strong - very Heavy rain, also: look! Water! Just hold a pot out and you can have fresh sky water! (And i like rain, the look of rain hitting glass, the sound, all very wonderful. If we could modulate weather ... i'd live in a place where its always raining.)

My parents visited me last month and I remember I was on my way to meet them in Tateishi at their Airbnb after my work on the day of the downpour... Train was delayed and arrived late but we found a local yakiniku store that was open... What a lovely memory that became...
