The prices for the excursions are very good. Usually they charge way more for foreigners. The Blue Hole-Abu Galum-Blue Lagoon Tour is about 40-45 Dollar (For Egyptians about 10)

Absolutely, the key to getting a good deal in Egypt (and many other countries, I suppose) is to keep asking prices for the same tour (or item if in a market) and find the best offer. They will almost always go lower. Hahaha, yeah that man was an idiot, but watching the footage later while editing and my response (I'd forgotten about him at that point) also had me chuckling, so I guess he gave me a good laugh in the end😆Thanks maf939!

hello Gisselle, thank you for the great video. I see Dahab is very interesting place to walk and to spend a few days. I like the night life, a lot of lights , music , etc. Probably I am going next month.

Yes it's very chill vibes but a perfect place to relax, snorkel or dive, maybe do some day tours (Blue Hole, Colored Canyons, Mount Sinai), or even just walk alone into the nearby mountains (or hang out on the beach😅). At night there's a few bars and cafes that have live music or open mic, and overall just a nice place to hang out and enjoy the vibes.

@@CarlosCruz-vm3di Hmm...not as cheap as Cairo, in my experience. But I guess there's a few reasons for that. Typically, I eat street food or at Egyptian take away restaurants, so of course those types of places tend to be cheaper than a sit-down restaurant right on the water. And also while I was there it was Ramadan, so most of the Egyptian food places were closed for a good part of the day. Liquor stores and bars were still open though, unlike in Cairo during Ramadan. But the food is generally just more expensive in restaurants. I'll give you a few examples of the cost of some dishes right on the water (I write everything down🤣🤣)Prices are in EGP of course. I paid: 130 for tea, tahina and cappuccino. 235 for calamari and juice. 100 for a cocktail at a bar (not right on the water but very close, Dahab is small). 180 for sesame chicken at Chinese restaurant. 55 for strawberry juice. 110 for burger at Hell's Kitchen (that was too much, for sure, but I was hungover 😅). 170 for turkey sandwich and fries. You get the idea. There actually aren't that many bars, especially right on the water, but there are some bars and also liquor stores, so you could always put that into a different container before you go out and discreetly drink it😄😉I agree I also love that type of mood.

please have a stop at boat shape cafe, that artist painting, the souvenir shop, spice shop, juice shop, etc... Also would advise you to change the channel name to Gisselle adventure , now it seems like a company, Thanks
@Gventures
@Gventures 2 жыл бұрын
Oh sorry, I can't make those stops anymore as I'm back in Cairo now! The boat shape cafe is a Syrian Restaurant, I never ate there though as there were never many people eating there (tourist or locals) and I usually will stop at a place that is busy (Especially if there are lots of locals) because I know their food must be good then. There is lots of art in Dahab, very hippy/bohemian beach town for Egypt. I didn't stop at the souvenir shop or spice shop while there either, but I am going to the markets here in Cairo soon to buy some souvenirs for my family that I am going to mail back to them, and spices as well, so keep an eye out for those videos coming out in the next 2 weeks hopefully. I've changed my channel name several times in the past (you can see that in my past videos in India, for example), it was really hard to decide what to call it. It used to be Gisselle Journeys The World, but that was too long, so I changed it to Gisselle Journeys, before finally settling on Gventures. I wanted it to be short and catchy but I dunno, maybe it's not...? My name is just long and nobody can pronounce it or knows how to spell it so when telling people about it they struggle to type it correctly without my help 😅

Who/where did you hear it was dangerous from? My mother was saying that too, sent me US embassy link or something that was saying Egypt was dangerous for terrorism and Covid-19 (this was in October 2021). I just ignored that crap. The US is always saying lots of places I travel to are dangerous, but I've never had issues so far. Knock on wood. Just have to use some common sense, and smile and be kind, most people are great! Diving? Both Sharm and Dahab are famous. Sharm is only about an hours drive south of Dahab. I have never spent time in Sharm, and I have never been diving before, only snorkeling. Near Dahab is the Blue Hole, which is famous. Talking just about vibes in these towns and not talking about diving, I MUCH prefer Dahab. Sharm is a resort town and I personally hate resort towns. Dahab is much more chill with hippie/backpacker vibes

Hi Hatice, thank you so much for your support by watching my videos! I really wish I could help, but I don't know very much about rental apartments in Egypt, my bf actually helped me find mine (he is Egyptian). I just know it was rather difficult to find a decent apartment when I was looking. I would recommend Airbnb, but you can also look on olx website. All the best, and wish I could have helped more!
