I know that Rolex have better resale value and brand name, but looks wise Omega is amazing! The dials are amazing and looks like you can and looks like you can't touch it with your fingers! And the movement looks amazing for totally machine decorated.

Rolex does have better resale value but that's all due to hype/marketing. There is no intrinsic reason why they should hold their value. With Omega, you're getting an incredible movement and great design. Omega also has a much more significant history than Rolex. 50 years from now, there is no reason to believe that Rolex will still have the upper hand on the secondary market. People are just lemmings who do/buy what everyone else is doing/buying. Once the mystique is shattered, people will see Rolex for what it is... a boring, unimaginative, risk-averse company that is artificially keeping prices high by controlling supply. Just my $0.02

Great review, thank you! Do you like the Omega Seamaster Diver 300m, also known as SMP? Especially the new 2018 version. The two tone version with black dial and rubber strap is very good looking.

Beautiful watch! I am having trouble choosing between the iconic Rolex Sub and Omega's gorgeous Seamaster Planet Ocean. I just love that open case back.

Amazing watch! Just noticed, really nasty scratch on the body case down bellow the helium valve crown (it appear at 7:17). I'm wondering it's possible to remove it somehow, and don't destroy the pattern of original polishing???

The presentation in the box from omega looks more special than a Rolex. With Rolex they are all the same type of box, just bigger. I feel like Omega adds a touch of playfulness to how they present a watch. That makes it interesting. With Rolex you know what to expect, and it feels familiar. That may be the missing feeling to Omega.

If you're old and unimaginative, buy a Rolex. If you're young and looking for a beautiful watch that you can actually enjoy, buy an Omega.

Hi London Watch Collector, serious question here as I have an option to buy this exact same piece new and unworn from Japan. Personally I think you have the prettiest ever Plant Ocean there. So to my question please: given all your subsequent high end pieces, how often do you still wear the Planet Ocean and do you enjoy wearing it. Would you for example wear this out all day and enjoy it. Thank you, Marco

I have a planet ocean 8900 and a rolex 41MM no date sub and can confidently say I prefer the Planet Ocean bracelet. It’s much more robust and heavy.

The gloves has nothing to do with the watch.. it’s so that the viewer like yourself experiencing the 4K UHD content won’t get distracted by hair / nails / skin and can enjoy the beauty of the timepiece.

Errrrm.I still use a stick and knowing the sun in the northern hemisphere is always to my south hope there is a shadow giving me a good idea what time it is.The stick doesn't come in a box and no guarantee.Never mind .A good stick holds its value and never lies and has infrequent service periods.(Unless it gets wet) .Cheers .Len.
