Unlike the speed of development in Seoul, the area around the Han River has long maintained its own primeval forest. Then, with the development of Han River Park in Seoul, the primeval forest gradually began to disappear. Primitive forests have existed along the Han River surrounding Yeouido for a long time. I remember walking there. Of course, it was such a place that was out of the interest of most people. The old grasses that had grown their way were intertwined, and there were only trees that looked miserable somewhere.
Yeouido Han River Park, which appeared in Bong Joon-ho's Korean film "The Host" (2006), was later developed along with other Han River parks in other regions and became the current one. As a result, most of the primeval forests in the front and west of Yeouido were cleared, and the primeval forests in the back of Yeouido remained ecological parks.
People's interest is only in Yeouido Han River Park, which is facing the Han River, so the ecological park on the back of Yeouido does not reach much. I was a little surprised a long time ago when I came across this dense forest of midsummer on a bridge from Yeouido to Yeongdeungpo. The forest's presence was so small and so quiet that no one had ever heard of it. Only this forest was still there. Over the dense dark green trees, such as the deep abyss sea, there were other bridges, and on top of them were cars leaving work. And above it, the red sun was burning below the ground. I put them layer by layer in the camera angle and then pressed the shutter. Click.
I decided to visit the primeval forest behind Yeouido someday, but I had never been there. In fact, I was too busy dating this person and that person to afford it(lie). just thought of it once in a while. Eventually, the speed of time was much faster than expected, so a lot of time passed.
On July 3, 2021, at 6:46 p.m., walking down the stairs in the middle of the Saetgang Bridge, I set foot in this forest. My camera led me here, lazy as hell. It rained, and new sneakers(OMG!) and socks were all wet, crossing the muddy water on the dirt road. The clothes and bags are all wet. But at that moment, I could see that the adventure of chasing my heart began.
