It must signal the absolute final few days of the 2023 season the resort will be open, as in a couple of weeks the warn June summer rain will wash away all that icy snow.

This was captured on April 6th but seems Saas-Fee still has some good cover for some summer skiing on the Glacier.

Wow. Talk about having the place to yourself. I notice you often cross rope barriers to closed trails. Here in Maine if they catch you they threaten you with taking away your ski pass and maybe calling you a bad name on social media. What is the policy where you are?

Yes, seems it's a lot more strict in the US. In Europe you're essentially free to ski wherever unless it's an imminent risk, such as an avalanche. Normally you will see someone standing there diverting people away. However, if it's closed or unmarked then it's at your own risk. Under such circumstance I don't think you will be covered by insurance if assistance is needed. There are some grey areas like the yellow/itinerary runs, which are essentially off-piste but controlled. However, this varies from country to country but in Switzerland, it's well defined. It's all kind of self managed in the end, follow the FIS rules and enjoy at your own level.
