During this past year I made a good number of trips to Sydney from Francisco. The easiest way to come back to the US is to fly direct on United. For this particular flight, I choose a seat (56A) all the way in the back of Economy which in my opinion is one of the better seats. Towards the rear of the plane, there are just 2 seats on each side of the plane so less cramped and easier access to the lavatory. The food was okay, nothing to complain about. I feel where UA shines is their IFE is pretty good with lots of movies, tv shows, so for sure you won't be bored. One thing that I did not like was the awful neck pillow which provides very little to no support.
