【4K】Walk at Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong | A transformation of Old Hong Kong

Sai Ying Pun is built on the steeply sloping lower slopes of Victoria Peak and also on the western reclamation. The areas of Shek Tong Tsui and Kennedy Town are located to the west, Sheung Wan and Tai Ping Shan are to the east, and the Mid-Levels is higher up the hill to the south. Victoria Harbour is to the north.
While the boundaries are not de jure drawn, they are nevertheless de facto defined by Whitty Street in the west and Tung Wah Hospital in the east. The University of Hong Kong MTR Station exit B1 straddles the boundary between Shek Tong Tsui and Sai Ying Pun. Good Luck Mansion and The Kadoorie Biological Sciences Building are in Shek Tong Tsui, while Saint Anthony's Church, Pao Siu Loong Building, and the Main Building are in Sai Ying Pun.
The eastern boundary is blurry. Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui College is in Sai Ying Pun while Tung Wah Hospital is in Sheung Wan. The section of Queens Road West from Medal Court to Hollywood Road marks part of the boundary. Elsewhere, the location of the border is unknown. On a map, Sai Ying Pun can be distinguished from Sheung Wan because it is left of the street grid of the Tai Ping Shan neighborhood.

I grew up in Sai Ying Pun, attending high school there. Not living in HK for the last 2 decades. Missed HK so much. Thank you for all the footage around HK.

I went to high school (King's College) on Bonham Rd, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong in the 60s and early 70s. The walk brings back a lot of memories. I now live in United States, but visited Hong Kong, especially Sai Ying Pun, each time I came back.

Oh thank you so much for showing me 4:25! I lived in this building when I was four years old and this was back in 1981. Still can't believe the store Hing Gai is still there.

Whenever I watch a video of Hk and I read the comments I feel like there’s a lot of people, just like me, that used to live in Hk and miss it a lot. I don’t think there’s a place on earth that makes such an amount of people feel the same. Sometimes I could cry cause I feel so nostalgic about the city and because I miss it and life there so so much.

Nothing like Hong Kong. Such a special location. I will always stop here on my trips to Asia. Your video brings back memories of this walk which I have personally done .

@@outdoorhongkong Thinks in Canada are looking tough with the covid restrictions. Not good at all . The last trip to Hong kong we payed a visit to Tai O . Loved it . We stayed at the Dorset Hotel in Mong kok Kowloon . Very busy, but so full of life .love Hong Kong and it's people.

I envision you as a tall person, gait and pace indicate this. the camera view puts it mid chest for men, woman face height mostly. And a sight to be seen. Most look at you in a world where that doesnt seem to be the case anymore. A gimble is being used or a likeness. I cant imagine you holding it though. I picture it strapped to your chest somehow. The intrigue😄
