I arrived at Koyodai camping site around 6 pm and decided to take a walk through the neighboring Aokigahara forest on my way to the onsen. Aokigahara is a well-known location in Japan, unfortunately, mostly recognized for suicides. However, I wanted to dispel any misconceptions about its eerie reputation. In reality, it's a serene and peaceful place with many walking trails. The scariest thing I encountered that night was... myself, startling deer as I walked. You might hear them running away in the background. Apologies for the heavy breathing sounds; it was the closest noise source to the mic in the quiet surroundings.

Great walk! I don't know if that sound in the background was the wind or nearby traffic, but it had a nice effect. I've only seen Aokigahara Forest in pictures and videos, but I've always thought it looked so hauntingly beautiful and ancient. If I'm ever lucky enough to come to Japan, I'd love to experience it (but in the daytime!). And much respect to you, sir. It takes a truly courageous soul to walk through Aokigahara at night.

I went to Aokigahara last week. I've been dreaming of visiting the forest since I discovered its story, and this year I was finally able to travel to Japan to visit a friend, so of course I took a two-days trip from Tokyo to see the forest. It was so beautiful and calming. I already feel nostalgic, I'd love to visit Japan again in the future and to walk again through Aokigahara. I don't think I would ever have the guts to do it at night tho, so thank you for this!

In day light this is probably a lovely place to be, however, in the dark it's extremely spooky and full of what looks like edges to fall down, you're one brave guy that's for sure.
