Another nearby fireworks festival was in Ashikaga town of Tochigi prefecture. I decided to walk around the town before the fireworks.
I walked from Tobu Ashikaga station through food stalls prepared for the festival. Bought ASMR cucumbers and pineapple on a stick.
Then I walked to the other side of Watarase river and found old area with Bannaji Temple and Old School. Finished at JR Ashikaga station.
Also found two cats, one of them was really fat 😹

Good idea, still by light we could enjoy the wide green river banks 💚 and all the contented people! Lovely moments, such as the smiling guys selling cucumbers /and the crunch crunch when you were eating them!😁/ Later the beautiful calming temple garden, koi... Loved the scene with the''fat cat'' - she wasn't camera shy and spoke such a nice meow, sweet, whatever it meant 😹😽!!!

It's pickled cucumber. Slightly salty & very juicy. Not sour like the western pickles. Perfect for hot summer days when you sweat alot.

Love this video so much! It's peaceful, harmonious and quiet. It's really good to see that people are enjoying their time along the river bank, which is exactly the same as the Japanese animations display :) And it is surprising to see that rubbish is classified in the festival, and the place is super clean ~ Japanese are so great!

It's pickled cucumber (kyuri no ippon-zuke). They sell apples on stick in the US coated in caramel. What's so strange about that?

@@brianflynn5355 It's not strange, it's sweet delicacy. But I always imagined pickled cucumbers as a salad or a side dish with a meal, rather than a snack. I guess this example explains why Japanese people are slim sized. 😊

I always wonder, do you actually carry the stabilizer? Or do you have it somehow attached to your backpack, or strap around the waist? Even with a stabilizier, carrying roughly 1kg for over an hour seems exhausting.

Sad to see so many Japanese wearing face masks in the countryside and parks. I can understand wearing them in crowded city centres and shops, but I think it is over the top to wear face masks in parks or countryside where you have fresh air. I fear that wearing masks in Japan will become a long term cultural issue now and I think people will feel obligated to wear masks even when Covid is long gone due to peer pressure.

@@alblgz - so you think it is normal to wear a mask in the countryside or park? Everyone is entitled to make comments or observations. No need to get bent out of shape. I have been to Japan 6 times and love the country. But if they maintain this culture of wearing masks whilst out in parks or countryside then I won’t be visiting till things change. You might say well good riddance, but it will put many people off from going.
