I thought I recognized that long stretch of tall pine forest as the south entrance. I've only been to Yellowstone once and didn't see everything. I saw a bit of the Lamar Valley but not the Grand Loop Mountain Drive. Yellowstone is amazing.

You weren't far off it's very close to the south entrance road. I don't mean to give too much away but if you hang around until Part 5 you'll see it! It really is such an amazing park.

Did you enter from Jackson WY -- the south entrance?

Sort of. I entered from west Yellowstone the day before and drove to Jackson to sleep. The next morning I drove back up and entered from the south
