I hope this concept will inspire you! 🙏
As a fan who grew up with the legendary Zelda Ocarina of Time, I always wanted to see what the environments could look like with today's technologies such as 4K resolution and DLSS but also the new features of Unreal Engine 5 like the real time global illumination Lumen and the powerful Nanite allowing me to work with film quality assets. The first episode of this series is dedicated to Kakariko village where I wanted to recreate and show my vision of the village with a next gen look and feel.
The goal of this series is to reimagine the different environments as if they exist in real life using the Unreal Engine 5 and to become a better artist in general. As a director, I also plan to present each of them with a cinematic. Also, even though I'm not a game developer, I also take the time to learn how to code to have a playable character and show you those environments from a third person perspective.

We make videos like this one (reimagining places from Zelda games), but not as good graphically (the hardware we have is not enough). But I would like places like the lake Hylia or the temple entrances made in this realistic style. Good work!

Indeed it's always fun to watch a game we played 20 years ago and we thought it was at the time absolutely perfect in terms of design and render because we cannot imagine how realistic it would be years later. As a teen, we were all aroused by the first Lara Croft render and when you see now what it was, just a bunch of pixels, it's really fun :)

It seemed a little taxing on the pc it was ran on too, but it's meant to be a showcase so that's a bit understandable.. The cam DEFINTELY needs to not rock while running. Not only is it disorienting, it kind of hurt the showcase as well.

This looks seriously incredible, great job! The only criticism I can think of is to scale back the camera shake quite substantially and make the wind effect on links tunic and the foliage a little more subtle. Your environment design is spectacular though! I hope one day Nintendo makes an Oot or Twilight Princess style zelda game with these visuals. Incredible work!

@@CptBlaueWolke @apolonioman correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you don’t understand labor of love. in it’s basic definition. The creator spent time and energy to produce a specific result of which was inspired by emotion and nostalgia as an unconditional instrument that nourishes his spiritual health. I do believe your statement is almost correct but it is false as your conclusion is lacking half of the observable item. Please do you due diligence before making a mockery of yourself. Not gonna lie, I legit teared up watching this. There are no words to describe just how beautiful you made Kakariko. It's like you took the idea behind Kakariko and gave it a complete makeover. This video is what my 5 year old mind saw when I came into Kakariko Village for the first time back in 1998. To see it reduxxed like this in full 4k60fps... Breathtaking. Like I'm revisiting my childhood all over again. Rowan, you may only be a one-man crew, but you are truly one of the greatest gifts in terms of Zelda animations alongside MajorLink that we fans could EVER ask for. If Hylia were a real entity, she'd be extremely impressed with your work, as would Din, Nayru, and Farore for fleshing out the fruits of their efforts in full spectrum Hi-definition

Biggest critique is the wobbling/shaking of the camera while moving. Smaller borderline nitpicky critiques: - no boxes that you normally roll into - no chickens - no bushes to slice - sometimes there may be too many extra things in the area(that look aesthetically great) minimizing the normal openness you found yourself rolling around in as a kid. With all that said I think this looks absolutely awesome. Ocarina of time is my favorite game of all time(get it??) so for you bring this kind of life to it is just near mesmerizing for me. Thank you and i'd absolutely love to download and play this demo.

Unlike most people here, Ocarina of Time wasn't part of my childhood, I only played the game for the first time a few weeks ago, and still, I can definitely say that this game changed me. Seeing that the Zelda community has such love and affection for this magnificent game, even after so long, warms my heart. I'm so glad to be part of this now, this is amazing my dude

Unlike most people Chris Chan wasn’t a part of my childhood. I only learned about the man 2-3 years ago. I can tell that it changed my life. Especially after learning about what that absolute sicko of a man did to his own mom.
