But Sonic kept fleeing as a coward the entire match, that makes it better for Terry since he has fast approach options and Kazuya doesn't.

Nah...Kazuya only weakness is ground speed and range, a bad combination against sonic. It does not change the fact Kazuya is a busted carry character that only need s 1 interaction to kill. Lame.

Sure, Kazuya is explosive, but the neutral and disadvantage are crazy bad vs Sonic. Terry is a better match up overall, so it kinda made sense to switch to Terry, even with the result being what it was.

Idk I don't mind watching Steve fight, but almost all matches with Sonic or Belmonts make me sick with the camping. I understand it's their win condition, and if you're good enough you can exploit their bullshit and etc etc so I'm not bitching about them being cheap, I just can't stand the play style and it's boring to me. Would rather see people fight each other than hang back and camp and wait for their win condition, just lame IMO.

He was probably just going with Kaz because Sonix didn't seem 100% confident in the MU, once he saw that Sonix worked it out, there was no point in playing a -3 MU after that

Kazuya gets juggled easily which is bad against sonic because he ussually wins neutral for free(being the fastest character in the roster). Despite this it worked for a few rounds because he was caught of guard and didnt adapt to his neutral. Once sonix figured out how riddles played he could've kept winning neutral and juggled him hard. At that point its better to play terry who can not only deal with being juggled a bit better but also benifit from the early damage sonic does by getting Go then combo him. Nothing is 100% however so either choice he still couldve lost or won.

It isn't a lack of confidence but to skew his opponent by changing characters and not giving them as much time to adapt to the match ups. It's actually pretty smart to keep his opponents on their toes and not to get confident with any 'download' they think they may have.

It’s a double elimination bracket.

Riddles came from losers bracket, which means he has to win the first set to reset the grand finals, then the winner of the second set wins. Since Sonix came from winners side, if he had won the first set, the tournament would’ve been over.

@@grizh6537 Does the Bracket Reset count as a win for Riddles in terms of PGR Rankings and things like that? Or to put it another way, would PGR count this as one win each (1-1), or just that Sonix beat Riddles (0-1)?

Sorry for the late reply, but I want to elaborate a little bit. In Double Elimination, everyone starts off in the winners bracket because they haven't lost a set yet. When a player loses a set, they get moved to the losers bracket with other players who lost a set. They all get another chance because of Double Elimination, but if they lose again in loser's bracket, then they're out of the tournament. Sonix never lost a set before Grand Finals, so he stayed in winners bracket. He's the only one left on the winners side because everyone else lost a set. Riddles lost one set before Grand Finals, so he got sent to losers bracket. He's the only one left on the losers side because everyone else in losers lost TWO sets and got eliminated. When Riddles won the first set against Sonix, he put Sonix into the loser's bracket with him. Riddles had to win another set for Sonix to lose two sets and get eliminated. Sonix only had to win one set because Riddles already lost a set and got sent to losers, so he would get eliminated if he lost another set. If Sonix won the first set, he would win the tournament and there would be no reset. Hope that makes sense.
