Now thats a really nice radio, I like the weather alert feature. Also nice to be able to listen to all the bands, especially after something like a hurricane where you station antenna may be down for a bit.

if scanning for a channel and miss it can you reverse direction of scan a manuel knob would be a big game changer other than that nice very portable i have a grundig satalite 800 not a throw in the back pack radio

Hello, do i have to use RECHARGABLE BATTERIES or can i use standard AAA BATTERIES. The book does not mention this.. Can i charge by USB and hand crank or solar using just the lithium battery that comes with it ?? Thankyou for an answer. Or can I operate this radio with just the little blue lithium battery that comes with it ? Can I hand crank using that little blue lithium battery.

looks like an ok radio, but mini usb? really? its 2023 nothing should be made with mini or micro usb anymore.

my radio has the original fiest big usb connector but its doing well for 15+ years old now. but i do agree with you too lol

@@victornelson1577 i just don't get why any company uses anything but usb-c now. You can't even find mini usb in stores anymore. Gotta find them online. Even micro is hard to find.

@@KE8NKO_Radio I love usb-c some of these wind up radios are older models . Yes USB-C is the way to go... Im using a C to C 50cm cable at the moment which is charging at 65W to a lipo battery. I think C type will hit 100-500w power transfers .. I still use a lot of equipment that is usb and usb micro. mini usb cables are still in shops here in scotland but will fade out soon. I try to keep a collection of all cables just in case.

Still got mini usb on my Tecsun radio which can charge 3 x AA batteries. Also my PS3 gamepad (used for PC) and GP2X retro games handheld. Older stuff it came on that I don't use anymore were my Sony Clié (Palm Pilot), Pure DAB radio and Canon Powershot. There's a strange small usb my old Lumix camera and motorbike bluetooth headset. I think it's called 8 pin mini usb. I'm sure that's ruined a few road trips when lost. Nearly everything else we have is micro USB.

@@dazednconfused31337 The 'strange small USB' you mentioned...might be Mini USB-B (yes there is such a thing). The USB plug everyone thinks of is a USB-A and the square end with the angled corner that plus into printers is USB-B. Both Mini and Micro USB have B versions but they were hardly ever used. Of course, USB-C is the same on both ends.
