I'm using Morimoto XB35 , they also have a 55W system that I bought at the same time but the 35's have lasted till now well since 2012 is when I installed the so when the 35 's go out I'll install the 55W system. The reflectors on the 2010's are much larger & can produce much more light.

I definitely looking to get the Xtreme LED Pro Kit. With the DRL Regulator as part of the kit, it seems like a no-brainer.

High beams have an odd pattern... did you clock them? No DRL driver? And your fogs are throwing a LOT of glare. Other than that, it looks pretty solid!

Hi, Installed the 9012 XTR HID (5000k) kit on my 2018 Rav4 and it's more than a month now but still struggling to achieve the "Pure White" of the 5000k.... I see the "Pure White" every time I turned-on my headlights but after a few seconds of warming-up it turns to "Yellowish"... In general, does all Xenondepot HID's really requires to wait for a longer burning hours for the color shift to achieve the desired white output?

lumens are off the top of my head so they might be slightly off but....the factory low beam bulbs( 670 lux)are too dim for sure, especially for wet driving conditions at night...I put GE Megalight Ultra H11 +130% (1069 lux) in the low beams which were slightly brighter and whiter than stock but still not good enough so got some philips 65w h9s (1230 lux) and modified them , they are slightly brighter than the GE megalight bulbs and the driving experience is improved over the stock bulbs but Im thinking HIDs are next... Philips 9011B1 9011 in the high beams so I am happy with those, not sure I want to mess with LEDs , I do have LEDs in the fog lights - yellow color diode dynamics H11 SLF (730 lux?) they are nice in pouring rain and snow, much better than white and the LEDs light up a wide path but considering the fog lights take a H16 bulb the H 11 bulb will fit but it's a pain to get in there

I have a Question : the DRL mode uses the High Beam lights? I think I dont get exactly how this actually work....
@Jaikool001
@Jaikool001 3 жыл бұрын
At least in my 2017 Camry, the DRL uses the High Beams but dimmed down (the computer sends a lower voltage to the high beams when DRL is on). So, the CANBus is basically a transformer that will increase the voltage. The High Beam LED will be running a full power with the CANBus. if there is no CANBus, then the LED will flicker because of the voltage drop.

Your high beam LED’s are not installed correctly. The LED’s on the bulb should be facing left and right, they should not be up and down or at an angle like yours are. The bulbs should have an adjustment on the collar to fix this. You should see better performance from them when corrected.

Why did you choose a HID headlight kit vs LED?
@marcxiong8332
@marcxiong8332 5 жыл бұрын
based on research HID has better lighting. LED creates bad cutoff lines or sometimes none at all, which blinds other drivers. HID has been around for a long time and is developed tech vs LED still in development phases. Also HID for high beams are not great for the sheer fact that they sometimes are quick turn on and quick turn off which HID takes time to light up vs LED instant light up. quick summary hopefully this helps

Are you getting any high beam flashing from other cars?
@itsjared
@itsjared 5 жыл бұрын
I bought and installed the HIDs and just took a trip with lots of night driving. Without adjusting the aim form stock, I was flashed probably 40% of the time. It was kind of funny but I do think I will try to aim them down as soon as I get the LED high-beams installed.
@Rhaspun
@Rhaspun 5 жыл бұрын
@@itsjared I get it sometimes on the factory lights on my Mercedes. I think people aren't used to the whiter color of HID lights. They may be staring right at the lights. The same thing happened when halogen lights first came out. People were use to seeing the regular lights and halogens looked too bright for many people. But people got use to it over the years as halogens became more common. Even I used to stare at the halogen lights when they first came out.

why did you go with LED high beams and not HID high beams?
@TRAININGFLAME
@TRAININGFLAME 4 жыл бұрын
Hids need time to warm up, in the typical high beam allocation people just used them to flash people. In that sense they are worthless as they wouldn't be warmed up and probably wouldn't do much. LED is instantly on.

Hey did you add the PWM option on the H11 HID kit?
@ELIPSIS1117
@ELIPSIS1117 5 жыл бұрын
I just ordered the HID kit, and as far as I am concerned, the PWM is only needed if you plan on running the HID bulbs in a system that has DRL's. So, if your DRL's in your headlights are the normal low beams, just dimmed, then you would need the PWM. I think the DRL's in the 4Runner are separate bulbs, so you should be fine. I only got the low beam replacement for now, and the PWM is not needed.

Compared to the stock, the new ones are 1000 times better. The white light just illuminates the road so much better than the yellow halogen bulbs. Especially in the snow. I would compare it to the stock high beams, if not better.
